Thanks to the trainer

Many of us older guys (over 35) never had a trainer in high school. If you were hurt you got taped from the coach, put ice on it and played. Today we have a part time trainer which is better than none. I always listen to what he says and as far as I know he's rarely wrong. It takes a lot of time off of my hands that the kids can get taped, treatment for injuries, and rehab by a professional. However with budget cuts many programs are losing their trainer. It's like losing the school nurse (which we've lost in the past), it shouldn't happen. The only bad thing is that kids line up outside his door before practice to get taped or something when they should probably just get to practice. However I'll error on the side of the kid since I don't know how hurt he is until I talk to our trainer. It's funny how his opinion is sometimes different than the kids. It's a great way to weed out the mentally hurt from the physical hurt.
