One major name from last year's Admirals team is still in Nashville this morning - hoping for a shot at the big club: Antti Pihlstrom.
The Nashville Predators currently have 27 players on the big league roster - but 4 of them are injured, leaving 23 healthy players (which is the league maximum). They will decide today whether they will keep 23, or drop down to 22. (The benefit there being the flexibility to pickup a player that is waived by another NHL club this week).
The two most likely on the bubble are Pihlstrom, and Joel Ward - who played the last few years in the Minnesota Wild system (notably for us with the Houston Aeros).
The Preds played their final exhibition game last night, an uninspiring 2-0 loss to Carolina, and should make their final roster decision today.
Of course, both players are likely to be in Milwaukee once Nashville starts getting some injured players back. Steve Sullivan, Radek Bonk, and Nick Tarnasky will all have roster spots once they return.
Those injuries could also affect Rich Peverley. The Admirals star is also on the big club's roster right now, but might get bumped for a healthy Sullivan.
