Thank You -- And We Will Return

So it's about time to shift into summer-gear.  It's been quite an adventure this year, and we thank you all for your readership, support, critiques, captions, and conversations.  There was a time in November that we thought that this was getting to be a waste of our time....as it was pretty much only Eric, and I, and our mothers who were reading this site.  But things changed over the 2nd half of the season.  And there are some people that we definitely need to thank before we hibernate for the summer.

- Todd at Milwaukeehockey.com.  The first real spike in our web-hits came after Todd endorsed our site, and put a link up on his page.  We were (and continue to be) extremely flattered, because Todd set the standard for Admirals coverage on the Interweb.  Thank you Todd.

- The folks over at the Admirals-Crew....who welcomed our coverage.

- Charlie Larson -- for putting up with our constant emails asking for more information about roster moves and injuries....

- Sebas - our first commenter, who had a buddy in training camp that didn't end up making the roster.

- Creedfeed - our first regular reader.

- Bradley Center catering....for the cookies.

- Scott Paulus, Chris Jerina, and Paul Oetlinger - for their most excellent photography.

- Our editor, Dan Walsh -- thanks for the T-shirts, and for being a good sport when we make fun of you.

And probably our biggest thanks goes out to this guy:

Bubba?

Sixsmith!

*

(thanks to season ticket holder and blog-reader Jay for the hockey card!)

The Sixsmith web-phenomenon was unreal.  Nothing brought the Sports Bubbler Admirals community together quite like Sixsmith (and nothing nearly ripped it apart like our April Fools story regarding Mr. Sixsmith....)  He's an anomoly, wrapped in a mystery, wrapped in shoulder pads.  We hope "Bubba" will be around next year, for sure.

So that's pretty much it.  We'll update when there's news...but we probably won't be breaking any of it.  On a programming note -- the Sports Bubbler site is going to be redesigned over the next few weeks.  Things may look a lot different the next time you check in with us, but make no mistake -- we'll be back next season, and will continue to attempt to provide some half-way-decent coverage for our Milwaukee Admirals.  And we hope you'll be along with us next season too.

Seacrest out.

I've had a problem getting down to the Miller plant before they close because they keep STUPID hours. I promise you your winnings are on their way!

I have to agree about you guys doing a great job. I've been reading for most of the season, but this is my first comment here. Just wanted to end the season by thanking you and wishing you a great summer.

I'll definitely be back next season, as long as you are here.

I too have really enjoyed your site this season.   (I hope Todd keeps up the milwaukeehockey.com site too.)    There's not much news about the Admirals in the Journal Sentinel , and it has been terrific to be able to come here and enjoy your stories with other fans.  Your sense of humor has been the best.  Looking forward to all the old and new faces next season.   Enjoy your summer!  We will need a story next fall on how Sixsmith spent his summer vacation :)

I'm more than happy to help spread the word.   Like many other Admirals fans, I was hooked after my first visit.  Hats off to Ryan, Eric, and Stephanie for a great season's worth of coverage.

ads fan, I received some terrific job news this week, so my site will not be shut down.  However, I'll probably only update things once every two or three weeks until September.

"Sixsmiths summer vacation"

Reminds me of the Preds @ Atlanta Thrashers pre-season game, they had a segment like that. The winner had to be "I didn't really do anything over the summer, just got married." If only i could remember what Thrasher said it...

Todd - Congrats, that's great news.  Woo-hoo!

Chris - There has been talk about there being some Roscoe's-Summer-Vacation webisodes for this summer, but I don't know the current status of the idea.  Seems like a good idea....trying to drive some web-traffic to the home page during the summertime.

I really thought we were going all the way this year. I am really disappointed we didn't. That being said, you guys did a great job on this blog adventure. Very detailed and accurate information (except that April FOOLS thing). I was impressed with how you guys seem to always stay ahead of the breaking news throughout the league. You must of had a mole somewhere in the organization, but that is what made this blog so popular. As far as the 6smith thing goes, I really hope they do sign him for next year. I know there was a lot of different view points and discussion involving him last year, but he has earned a shot. On a different note, where did that card with his signature come from? Is there anymore of those around? I would love to give my son (also plays hockey) one of those, he loves 6smith. He too is a little undersized. If anyone knows where I can get one, please pass it on. Thanks.

Thank you Jamie. I am going to surprise my son with one of these. His birthday is next week. Sometimes the best presents cost the least amount of money and come in the smallest packages. Eric/Ryan I owe you guys a beer or maybe some cookies and a thank you. See you next year at the BC.

Someonewhoknows you're awesome. That's why I love Milwaukee, a complete stranger is willing to give up something they went out and bought, regardless of the dollar value, to make a kid happy. What a small world, it turns out that my brother who lives in GBay, bought one of those other cards off e-bay. I just talked to him about this after I read the blog and seen the card.  He didn't say anything at first because he wanted to suprise both of us, but when Jamie said the other cards were gone he called. He knew my son loved 6smith because he went to a game at the BC with us and he loved it. His first hockey game, imagine that. I can't believe he bought that card. I know my son will be suprised. All that aside, I really appreciate your offer. Maybe someday I will return the favor. This blog keeps getting better and better. Thanks again.

Hey guys...what about a Sixsmith watch countdown??  It can be timer that counts down the days, hours, and minutes until they annouce whether or not Six-gun will return to the Admirals--or vice versa, count up until he returns...

Just a thought...

Great job this season!  Became a regular visit for me early this season and provided a great connection to the happenings in Milwaukee throughout the season.  I look forward to your continued coverage next season!

FYI, the Predators summer rookie conditioning camp is scheduled for July 6th-13th in Nashville and the organization will again be hosting a rookie training camp (most likely with a couple of exhibitions again) September 8th-11th prior to start of the full training camp on September 12th.
