  • The Top NFL Games- Week 16

(9-5) Baltimore Ravens vs. Dallas Cowboys (9-5)Saturday 7:15pm CST

The Steelers and the Giants have already sealed the deal in their divisions, which leaves these 2 fighting for wild card positions. Last week the Ravens lost to the Steelers and the Cowboys took down the Giants. Ravens have the #2 defense in the NFL and are not looking to give Romo a break. But, if the Cowboys can keep pressure on Ravens’ QB Joe Flacco, expect a victory for Dallas. If they can secure a wild card position, I think they have the talent to take it to the Super Bowl.

(8-6) Arizona Cardinals vs. New England Patriots (9-5) – Sunday 12pm CST

So there’s a 3-way tie in the AFC East! And with the Jets playing the Seahawks and Miami playing the Chiefs, the Pats need to win this 1 to stay in the race. Plus, Arizona has already won their division so the Pats are going to want this way more. Starting Pro Bowl QB Kurt Warner is going to have to prove that he can claim a victory on the East Coast at least once this year…but will this be the game? I think Cassel has what it takes, and if the Pats secondary can keep pace with Larry Fitzgerald, they can win it.

(11-3) Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tennessee Titans (12-2) – Sunday 12pm CST

I know they’ve both won their divisions already, but this should still be a great game. Last week the Steelers beat the Ravens and the Titans lost to the Texans! Everyone knows that the Steelers have had one of the toughest schedules in the league, and they’re still on top. I think Steelers are going to win this one.

(9-5) Atlanta Falcons vs. Minnesota Vikings (9-5) – Sunday 3:15pm CST

Falcons come in with the #1 rush offense, against the Vikings #1 rush defense…nice. Matt Ryan will have to look to an air attack with Roddy White to keep the offense moving, and ATL’s defense will have to really stick it to Adrian Peterson. Question is, are the Vikes going to start Gus Frerotte off of injury, or backup Tavaris Jackson? I think this is going to be a really close game, but in the end, the Falcons will win it.

(5-9) Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears (8-6) – Monday 7:30pm CST

Everybody knows that the Bears are favored to win this game, and I agree. In fact, I prefer they win this one since I DO NOT want the Viking to win the division!!! Vikings (9-5) play the Falcons this week and the Giants in NY next week. Bears play Houston next week.

Conclusion: If Kyle Orton and Matt Forte can take advantage of the poor Packers’ defense, it’s in the bag. If not, things could get interesting, especially if Rodgers gets mad out there.

After this week we should be able to pretty much layout who'll make the playoffs and who won't. Don't worry, I'll bring you all the info early next week!

  • What's the point of the Pro Bowl??

Basically, the point is to get selected, fly to Hawaii and party. On game day you’ll take lots of pictures, hang out with the guys, get in for a couple series and pray to god you don’t get injured. Then you’ll celebrate again that night, and keep your fingers crossed that your odds just went up to return next year. Who knows, maybe your net worth even goes up a bit.

Others may argue that the point is to be a part of that year’s “Dream Team,” but really…it’s not.

Let’s be honest, does anyone really even care about the watching the Pro Bowl anymore? The only thing I really care about is seeing who gets selected. It’s a fun game to watch, but no one is playing at 100%, and there is no real passion as far as rivalries and playoff hopes go.

On that note, who do we care about this year?

NFC:   Kurt Warner (AZ)- is he really better than Eli Manning? It’s a close call, but I’d

much rather see a Manning bros showdown!

Anquan Boldin (AZ)- sorry Anquan, but I like Roddy White better, he should be

the starter not the backup. And where's Greg Jennings??

Julius Peppers (Carolina)- love love love him! If I were a QB, he is one of the

last guys I would ever want in my face. Come to GB Peppers!

Charles Woodson and Nick Collins- obvious choices with each of them racking

up 5 interceptions so far this season.

Jared Allen (MN)- no offense, but I would have gone with John Abraham (ATL)

AFC:  Brett Favre - there’s no denying he’s done great things for the Jets… but is his

Reserve selection because he was better this year than guys like

Roethlisberger, Rivers, and Cassel? Or is this an experience/legend pick?

Ronnie Brown (MIA)- good player, but where’s Marshawn Lynch or Steve Slaton?

Joey Porter (MIA)- his defensive skills helped keep Miami in the game this year

Joe Thomas (Browns)- fantastic rookie year…Go UW!

Ed Reed (Ravens) and Troy Polamalu (Steelers)- best choices across the board

  • **NFL Picks VIDEO and What to get your girl for the Holidays!**

Alright guys… if you haven’t bought a present yet don’t worry! I have a few guidelines and ideas for you!

    1)   Make her a CD with all of “your” songs, or the songs that remind you of her.

    2)   Get a digital picture frame and fill it with all of your best photos!

    3)   Find the perfect scent of perfume that you’d love to smell on her everyday.

    4)   If you’re going down the path of lingerie, make sure you get the right size! Ask her   sister if you have to. Also, make sure it’s something that she’ll wear more than once, and let her know how sexy she looks in it!  (this is not a gift to give in front of kids, parents, etc.)

    5)   Her favorite sports jersey! Even better, give it to her with a ticket to the game.

    6)   Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY A KITCHEN ITEM! Unless it is specifically requested and she said for the Holidays. If she just randomly said she wanted or needed it one day…a gift is not what she meant.

    7)   If you buy jewelry, try to steer clear of the stuff from the radio ads! We have all heard about the journey diamond pendant, etc. Old news. If you already bought it… I’m sure she’ll love it.  :)

    8)   Gift certificate to get her hair and nails done at a spa. If you’re really good you’ll throw in a massage and a babysitter for the whole day (assuming you have kids).

          FYI: Hair highlight and cut = $70-100. Nails = $15-20. Massage = $50+

Still not sure? Go shopping with her this weekend for others gifts…I’m sure she’ll point out at least 10 things that she loves. Or just think really really hard about the hints I KNOW she has dropped already. Seriously… think.

Remember, meaningful gifts are always worth more to her than you think! Trust me, I am the kind of girl who loves anything shiny…but it’s the little things that make my heart melt.

    Good Luck!
