Marquette's Big East Battle

As (4) Pittsburgh defeated (1) UConn, 76-68 yesterday in one of the most physical games of the year, Marquette fans couldn't help but get a little more excited! Pittsburgh ended UConn's 13 game winning streak.

If Marquette can beat Seton Hall (14-10, 5-7) tonight at 7pm, it will tie them with Pittsburgh for conference wins/losses at 11-2. This puts them 1 step closer to a possible Big East title! Thank goodness one of the WI teams is a serious contender!

Before yesterday's upset, Marquette was ranked #10 in the AP poll. They're going to have to step it up to stay in the race though, because the 2nd half of their schedule is going to be very tough. Between Feb 25th and March 4th they will face off against the other top 3 Big East teams in a row! UConn on the 25th at home, and Louisville and Pitts on March 1st and 4th, both away games. If they can manage to win all 3, expect them to be a top 5 team in the nation this year.
