I spoke with Ben Sheets a little while ago in the Brewers' clubhouse and he said his sore triceps is feeling much better today. He first felt soreness in the triceps area, not far from his serious latissimus dorsi injury from 2005, the day after his start at Shea Stadium. He told me today that it feels much better today than it did on Sunday in New York, an encouraging sign. He doesn't really know if he will need to miss a start but seemed optimistic that he would not.
Gabe Kapler also reported improvement in his injured right shoulder and said he feels he can do anything that Ned Yost would want him to do. He said he is already mentally past the problem and is focused on being ready to play. That said, Gabe Gross is getting the start in CF again today.
It is good to see Jeff Cirillo here in Cincinnati. Cirillo is trying his hand at the media game this year for the first time as he does some work for the Brewers' television production and I have no doubt that he will be a natural. He knows the game very well and has always been a good communicator.
I had a chance to catch up with Brewers' statesman Craig Counsell today...here is what aired on the Jockey Pregame Show: Listen Here.
My partner cornered Ned Yost this AM as well: Listen Here.
