With consecutive wins to close out the road trip, Ned Yost's Brewers earned a split of the six away games and now has a chance to get back home and go on another patented roll at Miller Park. Were it not for the late hiccup in Denver, Milwaukee would have followed up the recent 8-1 homestand with a winning road trip. Nonetheless taking three of the last four road games is a real positive for a team which is continuing to gain confidence.
On the Jockey Pregame Show today, I caught up with Baseball America's Executive Editor Jim Callis, who is one of ESPN's analysts for the annual First Year Player Draft. Callis gives his take on Brewers' first round draft choice Brett Lawrie HERE. I will get more time with Jim tomorrow evening on the pregame prior to the Brewers-Twins' game at Miller Park and will get his insights on the rest of Jack Zduriencik's draft from last week. I do expect Lawrie to be a quick sign...hopefully he'll end up at Miller Park during the homestand to take some BP with the big club before embarking on his professional career.
