Brewers GM Doug Melvin

A great ballgame to open this critical stretch of play inside the Central Division tonight.  After losing the lead in the bottom of 9th, the Brewers bounced right back with 3 runs in the 10th to put this one out of reach. Great resiliency by the Crew tonight. With the Brewers victory, the Crew are guaranteed a winning road trip to start the second half of the season. Prior to the game, I talked to Brewers GM Doug Melvin about the Ray Durham trade and getting additional arms for the bullpen. Listen to the entire interview right here.

If you missed the game and want to sample the excitement, check out my post-game wrap which always comes complete with highlights right here.

Tuesday night I'll be taking your questions in the 5th inning, get your questions in early, right here.

If the season would have ended at the all star break, who would you think would be staying with the team and who would be cut or let go?

My opinion;let Mota and Riske go.Keep Torres saver.

Your opinion please?

Riske is on a multi-year deal through 2010, so he will be here for awhile.  Mota and Torres are both signed through 2008, as is Gagne.  The Brewers will have many pitching questions to answer in 2009, both in the rotation and in the pen, but fortunately there are alot of big games between now and then.  Having Sabathia and Sheets going deep into games frequently should allow Ned Yost to keep the bullpen pretty fresh and effective.  It is still possible that Melvin will add some relief help at some point, although he doesn't sound too optimistic at this point.
