I truly enjoy the way you and Uke work togeather as a team. Those reports that you give about the Minor Leagues is something I look forward to all summer long.

Enjoy the off season and looking forward to Spring Rraining and the 2009 season.

Keep up the good work.

I agree completely with Jim Ganzer and Mieske. I've lived away from Wisconsin for some time, but still stream a lot of your radio broadcasts. The job that you and Uke have done of over the years made it easy to be a Brewer's fan (something that was hard for a while back in the day).

Having lived around the US and listened to a lot of different baseball announcers, I have come to appreciate how good a job you do personally. I have never heard an announcer who could match your knowledge of a team's minor leagues affiliates. I consider myself reasonably knowledge about the organization, but I always learn something from your farm reports. You manage to speak to the casual fan and the die hard and everyone in between. Certainly, you're a part of the reason back in July I overheard two men talking in a bar about whether the Brewers bring up Brad Nelson if Prince Fielder gets hurt, or if they should just slide Russel Branyan over.

Your interviews never sound like throwaway pieces. While your interviewees do most of the talking, you steer them towards so much relevant analysis and insight while letting them be the star. These interviews are poignant, graceful, and, unfortunately, too short.

What is the most significant for me as a fan is that your enthusiasm for the Brewers comes through crystal-clearly on the radio. Your call of Braun's walkoff grand slam was one of the most memorable things I've heard on the radio. Sure, most of that was because of the Brauntasaurus himself, but a fair amount had to do with you.

Thanks for another season. Like the other poster, I have no doubt that you will receive a Frick award in the future. I hope you can stay a Brewers' announcer until you retire. Lock up CC, and lock up JP.

Thank you.

P.s. Not many radio announcers could hold their own next to Bob Uecker, but you do remarkably well. And, in fact, you even steal the show from time to time.

The above mentioned looking forward to "Talkin' Brewers", the first sign of Spring. With this being our first run with the Brewers Radio Network partnership, I got my first taste of how popular Jim Powell's "Talkin' Brewers" shows really were early on.

The engineers would usually send us the podcasts from the Saturday show on Monday morning. Well, one week they had forgotten, and on Wednesday I got two e-mails from soldiers in Iraq asking when we were going to be putting them up because, and I quote, "The guys have been waiting for it".

It shocked me. Two different guys from different units in the middle of a freaking war zone are on hold, waiting for Powell's podcast. UN-REAL!

Jim - from all of us at SportsBubbler, thanks for all of your hard work this year, not only calling the Brewers games, but taking the extra time to do the blog and 5th inning chat here at SportsBubbler.com - we do appreciate it!

Jim Ganzer

You're truly becoming one of the best in the game, and I look forward to the day you join Ueck with the honor of the Frick award.

It's been a great year. Looking forward to Talkin' Brewers; the first sign of spring!

It is a depressing end to the season but honestly this team wasn't championship quality. It was a good team but all the parts were not in place.

I'd love for you to check out my take on the '08 team and the '09 outlook. Leave a comment! It would make my day.
