With the NFL Scouting Combine now over, it’s time for over a month of pro day workouts to commence.
The Green Bay Packers were in attendance at the very first pro day workout at Florida Atlantic University according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
The biggest name people were watching was inside linebacker Frantz Joseph who was probably the biggest snub after not being invited to the Combine.
Joseph put up very average numbers, but I, of course, don’t put much stock into 40-times and three cone shuttles. Performance on the football field is where it’s at and Joesph has done it.
The hard hitting linebacker was defensive player of the game of this past season’s Motor City Bowl and then again in the Texas vs. the Nation all-star game.
This former Owl could be a steal for some team in the middle rounds of the draft, and I’m not the only one who thinks so.
"I don't just think he'll be drafted, but could be a Pro Bowl guy," professional trainer Brian Martin told the Palm Beach Post.
Of course, Martin is biased seeing as Joseph is one of his clients, but the evauators over at Draftguys.com also use the words “Pro Bowl” in association with Joseph’s name (head over to draftguys.com for a great video analysis and highlights of Joseph).
Other performers that stick out include Carldayle Brantley and running back Charles Pierre.
DraftDaddy.com said, “The performance by Carldayle Brantley certainly jumps out at us. He only collected 35 tackles his first three years at F.I.U., but recorded 44 tackles, with 3 interceptions, last season. He's a likely free agent type, we'd guess.”
I personally like Pierre and think he could be a great free agent type running back. I believe Pierre was a big reason FAU has won back to back bowl games and head coach Howard Schnellenberger is undefeated in bowl games.
