I want this blog to be a place you can come to for not only Wisconsin sports but anything under the sporting umbrella. In addition to that, I hope to bring some memories back to you from the 1990's with the great music that the decade produced. I hope you have a good time reading what I have to say and listening to some phenomenal music.

re: Prince on the Block

I respectfully challenge your declaration that Jimmy Rollins was the best player in the league last year. Based on what. SB's? Maybe he was the most valuable fantasy rotisserie baseball player. But that award should have gone to Matt Holliday. He hit .340. Rollins didn't even crack .300. Holliday had a better OBP, less errors, and I would argue that he meant a whole lot more to that team than Rollins did to the Phillies. What's your argument that Rollins was the best player?

Nice going. You found the exception to the general rule (A-Rod in Texas). They accidentally got it right by giving the award to the best player in the league. Why Albert Pujols has only 1 MVP title to his name is absurd.

Wait....you're an expert on genetics now? So let me get this straight....simply put, because Prince's father was fat, you are certain that Prince is going to become fatter? How similar to your dad are you? My dad is obese. I'm in great shape. Back to Prince -- if it's muscle mass he's putting on, that's great. If it ends up being stored fat, then that may be a problem. That's fine...be concerned. I'm not going to be concerned.

Bill Hall asked for a trade. Bill Hall wasn't getting playing time. You don't think it's likely that Melvin called some folks?

I contradicted myself? You need to re-read my post. I said it's dumb that MVP tends to only go to playoff teams. And I think that it should go to Lincecum this year. The Giants were left for dead at the beginning of the season, and they didn't even finish last in their division when all was said and done.

Ahhh, the 'it's my party and I can cry if I want to' defense. Don't you think censoring my posts can be classified as an act of disrespect? Honestly, and sincerely, I think you could use some thicker skin. Like you said, it's f'ing sports talk. Nobody's feelings should be hurt from this. If they are, there's a problem.

re: Prince on the Block

I can't comment on all that at the moment, but I wanted to hit a few things real quick.

Jimmy Rollins was the best player in the league last year. And Alex Rodriguez has won the MVP on a last place team, so it's not just about the best player on the best team going into the playoffs.

That's great that Prince is still a vegetarian but genetics says he's in trouble for his future and he has put on weight each year in the Majors. If he can stop the 15 to 20 weight gain each year, he'll be okay, otherwise he will be like Cecil and eat his way out of the league.

Yes, Bill Hall wanted a trade. That doesn't mean Doug Melvin looked into or pursued trading Hall. The argument for Hall is saying that he will now have a second year in a row at the same position and hopefully his defense improves and, in turn, he will be more relaxed at the plate leading to better numbers....HOPEFULLY!!!

I agree that Lincecum should be the Cy Young winner but based on your argument about Howard, you are contradicting yourself with Lincecum for MVP on a bad team. Lincecum is an absolute stud, no doubt, just not sure I'd give him the MVP.

And as far as deleting your comments and not debating them, well, it's my blog and I can do what I want. Yes, I say that with tongue firmly in my cheek, but come on now, as long as I feel disrespected, I'll delete what you say. I have NO issue with you disagreeing with me or giving your insight as to why you think I'm wrong, but I won't tolerate being disrespected over f'ing sports talk.

re: Prince on the Block

Alright! Now we're getting somewhere! You have some good points in there, but you missed the point on a couple of things. We'll discuss the good and the bad.

First, Prince VS Howard. "Prince having a better VORP doesn't automatically make him a better player than Ryan Howard. Howard has the awards and numbers to back that claim up as being a better player".

Actually VORP means exactly that, and in my deleted post I listed stats that Prince was better than Howard this season. Howard plays in a sandbox and has high OBP guys in front of him....put those two things together, and that's how he gets higher HR's and RBI's. Stats show Prince is a better hitter. Stats show Prince is a better fielder (ha ha ha ha ha ha!).

You want to make Ryan Howard the best player in the world because baseball writers (who know next to NOTHING....there are some who could not vote Cal Ripken Jr into the hall of fame....those people have no souls) gave him some hardware? He played only 88 games that rookie campaign. You know why he won? Competition. Lack thereof. Weak class of rookies that year. So weak that a guy who barely played half the season could win ROY. 2nd place? Willy Tavares. Yikes. 7th place? Rickie Weeks, with one 2nd place vote.

Jimmy Rollins won the MVP vote last year...an abomination. An absolute travesty. Baseball writers don't give the awards to the best players. They give it to the players that go along with the best storylines, that make the playoffs. Why admission to the playoffs is a requirement for the MVP makes ZERO sense to me. So to use these awards as evidence that Ryan Howard is somehow a better player than Fielder is a flawed argument.

No, I'm not concerned about his waistline. Is he still a vegetarian? Is he still working out? Can he hit? If yes, than I'm fine with him being larger than the average bear.

Brad Nelson. Never started a major league game. I'm not prepared to hand the keys over to him at that position. Could he be awesome? Yes. He could. Is he likely to be awesome in 2009? NO ABSOLUTELY NOT! All we have to go on to predict the future is minor league statistics and his 7 major league at bats. And if he can't demolish AAA pitching, what makes you think he'll be able to mash against Johan Santana and the like? The evolution of 1Bmen dictates that you need to have a slugger there. Stats say that Joe Dillon has a better stake to the 1B job than Nelson should have. But that won't happen either. Matt Laporta! Come back!

Actually, I feel confident saying that nobody wants Bill Hall in a trade. Bill Hall wanted to be traded this past year. And he could not be moved. Ergo, nobody will take Bill Hall in a trade with that skill set and that salary.

You said Matt Cain is not a #1 or #2 starter. I question your definition of #1 or #2 starter. That's good that we can agree on the fact that he'd be an excellent addition, and that's great that we agree that Prince's value should demand more than just one guy. But Matt Cain could be a #1 starter on some teams that don't already have Tim Lincecum (who incidentally, SHOULD win Cy Young and MVP this year).

I agree that Hardy has some trade value that we're not hearing about in the media whispers. And it would be more plausible to trade him considering the players that are waiting in the wings. The off-season is young...I expect that we'll hear those rumors starting up again.

I do think the Brewers were winning in spite of Ned Yost, and I think you probably felt the same way at some points during the season too. As far as Favre goes, I say good riddence. They lost to the Raiders. That's embarrassing. I'm embarrassed for him.

Tell me how "debating" and "telling somebody that they're wrong" are different. The thing about debating is that it's supposed to go back and forth. And until this most recent reply of yours, there had not been back and forth. While I admit my choice of words is sometimes "mean-spirited" and that the tone gets lost in text, you cannot deny that I bring some great points to the debate. And rather than offer some counterpoints or stand up for your views that are challenged, you delete my replies. That's not how it should work. That's someone who doesn't want to debate. And that's contrary to what you wrote in that last paragraph.

re: Prince on the Block

Prince having a better VORP doesn't automatically make him a better player than Ryan Howard. Howard has the awards and numbers to back that claim up as being a better player...and are you the ONLY person not concerned about Prince's waist line? Because you would be the first person I've talked to where that isn't a concern.

You don't know that Nelson can't play everyday in the Majors at first. Would he put up the same numbers as Prince? More than likely, no. But that doesn't mean he can't still fill a role on the team as a starter. I didn't say he should be given the job but he's definitely a possibility.

Also, don't tell me no one wants Bill Hall in a trade. Have you talked to every MLB GM? I highly doubt it. Again, Hall can have value and be an asset given the right situation. Is he going to bring you great Major League talent in return? Well, that's highly unlikely but getting his salary off the books is the point of trading him anyway.

I never said Matt Cain wouldn't be a fine addition to the Brewers rotation. He's just not enough for Prince straight up in a trade, in my opinion. Again, as I said, if we could get Cain and another piece or two from the Giants, then I'd be all for it.

In fact, out of any Brewers player that could be traded and get value in return, I would much rather see the Brewers trade JJ Hardy over Prince Fielder. But that rumor speculation seems to have died down a bit.

I really think you are the type of fan that is never satisfied, no matter what. You would find a reason to *** about the Brewers or Packers even on the day they win a championship. You know, one of those fans that thought the Brewers were winning in spite of Ned Yost or that the Packers would have a better record with Brett Favre.

Finally, if you really wanna go berate me on the message boards, then go for it. I'm all for debating baseball or whatever topic I may post on here. But you don't wanna debate. You just like to tell me I'm wrong, I'm not a good writer, I'm posting things I shouldn't and basically anything I say is garbage. So yeah, take your complaints to the faceless masses on the message boards because as long as you continue to talk down to me the way you do, I'll just delete any and all comments you leave me.

Do you want me to take this to the message board?

My first post: "Why The Author Of Sports Nirvana Has No Spine."

Or we can keep our discussion here. It's your choice.

Let's review from the previous posts that you deleted:

- Prince deserves MORE than Ryan Howard money because he is a better player and had a better year.

- Brad Nelson cannot be an everyday 1B in the major leagues.

- Nobody wants Bill Hall in a trade.

- Matt Cain would be a fine addition to the Brewers.

Do you have a rebuttal to any of my points?
