The Antlers (The Top Three Players
Brandon Jennings - Since last Friday, you dropped 55 on the warriors and were named the East's player of the week
Andrew Bogut - Still averaging rocking the Double Doubles, playing like a leader, Oh, wait, that sucks
Luke Ridnour - He got the love from me last week, and he has been awesome off the bench.  He is a great back up, making starters money

The Broken Hooves (The Bottom Few)
Hakim Warrick - You were moved into a starters role, but you need to move back to the bench
Jodie Meeks - Find that stroke again kid, we could really use some of that scoring
Michael Redd - Still, this team doesn't need him, and the style will change when he comes back

Give Him Some Love (A new nick-name name)
Calvin - Sir Text A-lot - Sampson - Calvin got in trouble for his communication skills while he coached in college, but we all see his ability as a coach now for all the work he put in with Jennings over the summer and so far this year. Calvin has helped him out so much that America will tell you what they think of Jennings, Check this out. From an ESPN Sports Nation article about ATL's Joe Johnson, check out the poll and map on the

This Round is On Me (A beer or Cocktail to go with your game)
Home Game Tonight - Get your Sconnie on. I don't really care about any beer made in the south, so drink your home town pride.  Because Michael Jordan is in charge of the Bobcats, and he is apparently really bitter about somethings, and because he often acts like a little girl; drink Bitter Woman from Tyrenena in Lake Mills. Let the bitterness fill you up and be angry at the fact that The Bobcats did better than Our Bucks last year.

Not in this House (Acts of Cry Baby / Bad sportsmanship)
It was 5 years ago yesterday that Ron Artest, Jermaine O'Neal, and Stephen Jackson all strengthened their already strong Jack-ass ratings by participating, inciting, and aggrevating one of the worst moments in basketball history.  They should all really be ashamed of themselves to this day.

Drive and Dish (A quick criticism of Our Bucks and today's stpecial nick name)
Joe - I'm a stupid whining crying baby ass face - Alexander.  Joe, are you complaining. Are you asking for a trade, yeah, like we didn't think of that first... Sounds like The-Hard-Work-Kid can't handle it.

What to Watch For (self explanatory)
The Bobcats have some talented players on their team, and look at that, they just added one of the NBA all time great ass faces.  Our Bucks will have another run-in with Stephen Jackson 6 days after their last.  With some unfamiliar surroundings, he wont be very effective.  The Cats have some good guards and Michael Redd might be back to provide no defense whatsoever. Bogut will be challenged against Chandler, he is long and athletic.

    Prediction -
Our Bucks are still rolling. How about another home win for the guys in green.  101-94.

    GO BUCKS!!!
  • A Good Win, A Bad Team

Our Bucks came out sputtering in last nights home game.

Jennings didn't have it going.  Charlie Bell doesn't understand what "have it going" entails. Warrick continued the trend of not performing well in the first unit.  But all was not lost, Delfino finally picked up the slack, shot some sweet threes and took a scoring role on this team.  He and Bogut helped keep things close until going in at the half, down 48-41.

If it weren't for third quarters I don't know if Our Bucks would win.  Out of the locker rooms Our Bucks have dominated third quarters this year. Scott Skiles has a theory - "Guys sit around for 15 minutes and all of a sudden the ball is in bounded, and if you can be ready to play at that moment, sometimes you can catch a team on their heels a little bit and seize the momentum." No team in the NBA has seized the momentum in the third like Our Milwaukee Bucks.

The D was turned up in the third and the offense got a big quarter. Our Bucks one the third quarter 28-12.  When you watch The Nets play, and if you saw Jennings awesome steal and dunk, you know why they are 0-12.

The fourth wasn't as pretty, but the lead had been taken, and the final 24 looked a lot more solid than the first set of 24 minutes.

Delfino and Bogut each finished with 21 points for the night. Bogut continues to have a great first step and rebounding skills outplaying 2nd year man Brook Lopez. Bogut finished with 11 rebounds and 3 assists. Jennings didn't have a lights out game, but 19 points with 8 dimes, I'll take that every time.  Ridnour made his value known every time he was on the court tonight.  He took his bench minutes for 17 points 4 Boards and still dished 3 out. The Angry Duck rules.

My prediction was pretty close yesterday, and The Nets did lower their season average for scoring.  How good does it feel to not be the laughing stock of the league anymore? Feels pretty damn good to me.

I pay attention to the stuff that dudes in short shorts say
  • What To Do Now

Today as fans of Our Bucks we have to ask ourselves some questions.
    1.     How do we approach the idea that Our Bucks are actually winning?
    2.     How do we feel about fair-weather fans?
    3.     What do Our Bucks do for/with Michael Redd?
    4.     How does tonight go with The Brooklyn New Jersey Lebrons Nets?

    1. I am almost 25 years old, and I don't know if I have ever seen this much hype around Our Bucks.  Let's be honest, the hype is about Brandon Jennings, who just happens to be here. Are you as cautious as I am?  It's confusing, but lets embrace Our Second Place Bucks.  If the season ended today, Our Bucks would be in the play-offs for the first time in years.  Keep your smiles on and your fists in the air.

And encourage Brandon Jennings to get the High Top Fade back, it's sweet.

    2. Success in Milwaukee leads to fans. Disappointment in Milwaukee leads to empty stands, just ask the Brewers in their second half this year. Our Bucks have let so many of us down over the years that it seems odd that they'd ever be able to bring back any of these fair weather types, but they have.  More people are crowding the BC; no sell-outs, but the people are coming. Unlike the baseball types, I don't mind fair-weather fans for Our Bucks.  It might just fool Brandon Jennings into thinking that this city/state actually like Our Bucks.  The more the merrier in my book.  I'm not going tell someone that "I was cheering for them when they won 25 games, and that makes me better than you."  Like so many would say about The Brewers. Be a fan of Our Bucks in any form, I'll welcome you. Jump on board, and no matter where the train stops, you might just want to stay.

    Enjoy your stay

    3. Our Bucks need Michael Redd back as soon as possible.  Our Bucks need to get the ball into the hands of Redd every time down the court.  Our Bucks need him to score at will and get as many points as he can, and as soon as possible.  Our Bucks need him back on the court badly.  Our Bucks need Michael to be the man, the captain of the team, the leading scorer, because if he is not, he wont be good trade bait.  We have seen what Our Bucks can do without him, and we like it.  That needs to change for a short time so he can be marketable. He needs the rock, and he needs to shoot.  Redd would be a great piece of the puzzle for any number of teams, and he plus extras could make a great trade.  If Our Bucks would be able to group him with a couple expiring deals to a contender, or even semi-contender Our Bucks could get a good package in return.  Would a tandem of Redd / Alexander / Elson and/or Thomas be enough of a scoring/salary dumping option to pry a serviceable Shooting Guard and a Protected 1st round pick. I think Our Bucks could be looking at some fun options for the lefty once the deadline approaches.

    4. Tonight, The Nets. So far The Nets are off to a win less start.  0-11.  Can Our Bucks make it 0-12 at the BC tonight? I'm leery, but without hometown boy Devin Harris, Courtney Lee, or (Larry Harris' finest) Yi Jianlian, The Nets don't pack much fire power.  Chris Douglas-Roberts has filled in as a scoring option, but Brook Lopez is making himself a leader on The Nets.  Lopez has averaged 18 points and 9 boards this season and is the only Net to start all 11 games.  Oh yeah, don't forget, he could have been one of Our Bucks.

Neither of these guys will be playing tonight

Either way, Our Bucks come into this game having split four games with the Nets last year. I predict that tonight Our Bucks take the first meeting.  The Nets are averaging 86 points per game this year. Look for Our Bucks to dismantle them, and lower that average a bit.  95-84, Our Bucks prevail, and Jennings blows the roof off the BC.

Oh yeah, Miller Park Drunk goes Plato on Our Bucks and it's awsome.

    GO BUCKS!!!

  • A Great Sports Weekend

If you thought 32 points was a coming out party for Brandon Jennings you only had to wait a couople of days until the true party to come around...

On an awesome Saturday night, in a glorious sport-silled weekend, Our Bucks shined through.  It's not every day that records are broken in the state of WI. And it's not every day that a record of Kareem Abdul-Jabar's is broken either.  On a night where we saw most of Our Bucks struggle for 3 quarters, Brandon Jennings took the ball and made himself the new leader of our team.

At the end of the first 12 minute period, Brandon Jennings had ZERO points. Andrew Bogut did his part to help make up for it, but it looked like this was going to be a long game for the home fans in attendance. The Warriors have too many good individual players to be as bad of a team as they had been.  Stephen Jackson was not backing down from anyone. He was dueling.

The second period came around and Jennings started to get in on the action. Luc Mbah A Moute was beginning to establish himself as a guy who was going to pick up the slack for his team mates.  He was chasing down boards, causing headaches for every Warrior, and had his much hyped jumped working. Bogut played well with Tenacious defense, but Our Bucks still found themselves down 49-57 to the NBA's version of a Tennessee Williams play.

In the third quarter of action, Our Bucks and The Young Money took over. Brandon went for 29 points alone to fuel 41 points for the team. The prince did his part to grab boards and keep plays alive. It was a quarter of basketball the likes of which had never been seen.

Brandon Jennings didn't back down in the fourth, and neither did the rest of Our Bucks. Charlie Bell stepped up his D in the fourth, and played a huge roll in this quarter.  The man from Flint hit some big shots, and had an excellent steal. The Prince stayed tough, and Bogut let none pass in the lane.  Brandon Jennings stared down the competition, and I'm pretty sure that after Jennings nailed a late three followed by two clutch free throws, Steph Curry cried a single tear. Jennings was on fire.

Jennings finished with a line of 55/5/5.  His dominance was amazing to watch, He is the Wonder Boy.
Bogut continued his Nasty streak going for 19/11/2.  He earned the nick name Nasty-man.
Charlie Bell continues to stand strong in his replacement of Michael Redd.
The Prince didn't have a flashy line, but 8/12/3 with 2 steals makes me happy.
These four players combined to have a +44 differential, and blasted forth in FOUR part harmony over the Warriors.

Scott Skiles had some mighty kind words about the Wonder Boy...

“I was in a game when Michael (Jordan) had over sixty once. I don’t know exactly what to say. On a night where we didn’t play very well; we weren’t ready defensively. He (Jennings) felt we needed to be picked up and we went to our pick-and-roll game and spread the floor and he got hot, again. He had 55 in three quarters; he didn’t score in the first quarter. A very impressive performance for anybody, let alone a rookie in his seventh game.”

As for the rookie, he was shaking with excitement in the locker room, and didn't even seem to want to talk about himself...

"Charlie Bell hit some big threes and (Andrew) Bogut is going to do his thing. I think everybody came out and contributed tonight. We played kind of bad in the first half so for us to come back out in the second half and get a big lead, it would have been a shame to lose that game.”

Other Notes from Saturday night, One of the greatest Sports nights of my life...

A good friend of mine was in from out of town. We decided to go out for dinner to watch everything that was on.  He is a college football guy, and a UFC guy, and I am a Bucks guy, as you know.

We went to the Tilted Kilt. All of the TVs were split between football and UFC 105, I had to ask the management to get Our Bucks on one screen. They even brought me a speaker to listen to the game from our table, it was nice.

The food was good, and our waitress could have been considered aliteration in its finest form (inside joke). The third quarter was electric for Our Bucks. People started noticing.

By the time the fourth started, UFC 105's main event started. By 6 minutes into the 4th, no one cared.  Everyone's eyes were on Our Bucks, More TV's turned to watch Jennings, The Prince, and Bogut take the game into their hands. The entire bar was cheering for Our Bucks.  This just doesn't happen in Madison. When the game was over, the bar cheered. It was electric.  Our Bucks pulled it out.

We left the Tilted Kilt, my friend left with the number of our waitress, so I decided he deserved a beer.  We got to the next bar which was packed to watch the Cotto v Pacquio fight.  We got a free beer because the keg ran out, and we watched the fight.  I've never seen a bar so electric for a boxing match before.  Cheers came over the crowd between each round.  With each stiff right Pacquio delivered the crowd yelled louder.  When the fight was called in the 12th, the crowd errupted.

It was a fantastic night for sports.  The Badgers won earlier that day. We were less than 24 hours away from a convincing Packers win. My stomach was filled with tasty local beer. My friend's head was filled with dirty thoughts of a waitress with a fun name to say.  A great night indeed. GO BUCKS
  • HOLY CRAP!!!

Continue flexing Milwaukee fans... How much more can I say, other than ---- Brandon Jennings explodes for 55 points. Let me just say this, Saturday, the 14th of November 2009, was one of the greatest sporting nights of my life. Brandon Jennings just might be god.
