Sure Shots -- A collection of quick thoughts for your weekend with Our Bucks.
The Big Guns - The top Bucks playing right now:
- Andrew Bogut with a back that works
- Hakim Warrick has been a threat thus far off the bench, a 6th man to fear.
- Brandon Jennins, Young Money has gone 12/6 mostly off the bench thus far.
Skiles Dog House - The Bucks who aren't pulling their weight:
Give Him Some Love - A new name for one of Our Bucks
- Hakim Warrick, I'm going with "The Dream Crusher" An homage to the one of the greatest centers of all time, but mostly for for his nasty block while he was still an Orange Man on Kansas' Michael Lee.
poetry in motion ----(thats a good name as well)
This Round is on Me - A beer or cocktail to go with the game:
- Tonight is the last preseason game, and it is against detroit. There are a number of options to go with this game. There are few finer breweries in the United States than Bells out of Kalamazoo. The Two Hearted Ale is a bitter masterpiece in a a bottle where as Detroit is a bitter sink-hole of a city. Another suggestion is automotive themed for Detroit's beautiful automotive history, Irish Car Bombs, Try it my way, In half a pint of Guinness, do a quick swirl of Jameson directly in the beer and then drop a full shot of Irish Cream. It's the winners way.
Not In This House - Acts of Cry Baby Ass-face-ness:
<------- Ass face
- Stephen Jackson. (more than likely he'll be featured here quite often) Yeah he's good, but not that good. Go ahead and pick up five fouls and a tech, but try to make sure it's not in 10 minutes. And Mr. Jackson, make sure that if you are leaving after those fouls, it's because you have picked up your sixth foul or your second thechnical. If you're just walking off, you are a cry-baby douche.
- ESPN, get your act together, and Deadspin chill out.
Drive and Dish - A Quick Criticism:
- Come on Ilyasova. You were brought in to be the starting power forward and through the preseason, you've got more fouls than rebounds. We watched you play in Europe, you smoked 'em, and we could really use that to start the season. Get your head on straight, and adjust to the game on this side of the pond.
What to Watch For - Predictions and wishful thinking
- The battle for both forward positions are intersting. This team is filled with combo forwards and each can make a case for the starting job, not to forget about Ol' Man Kurt. As fans of Our Bucks know, Scott Skiles isn't affraid to shake up the starting 5, (the man started Malik Allen of CV31). Depending on which team Our Bucks are playing, the line-up will change. Skiles has said that the Kurt will probably start for the opener vs Philly, but that he might not start the next night in Detroit. There are a lot of good options and different line-ups to throw in for different purposes. I feel confident in the defense with Kurt Thomas out on the court next to Bogut, but the offensive end could use Warrick at a starters spot.
- Check out the new Bucks.com, it looks great.
- For tonight, I predict Our Bucks get a win tonight against the Pistons in the MACC Fund Game. The Pistons aren't going to get any defense out of Ben Gordon or Charlie V, plus Big Ben is a shadow of his former self. Ben Gordon has been a big game hunter, and killed Our Bucks over his career, but with these last few days off, defensive heads should prevail.
