Understanding Our Bucks/Break Out Player

How about Hakim.
Hakim Warrick has been stuffing the hoop in preseason.  There is very little denying it.  Hakim isn't a starter, and he isn't going to play much defense, but he's got a motor.

Let's check the stat line for Warrick. Before the two games he started, we were seeing great things...

15 points and 7 rebounds in 24 minutes a game.
Finding ways to pass at 1.5 assist per, which is not great, but not expected to be high at PF.
His fouling was controlled which is more than the other new forwards can say.

After starting a couple of games, in place of Bogut and given a shot in the MACC Fund game, almost all of his numbers dipped for a line to 13.5/5/1.5.

This is a small sample size and these stats are above average from his career numbers, but I'm an optimist.  I think of this as a Felipe Lopez situation with the Brewers. I hope you can follow my logic. Lopez just had a career numbers in his second half with the Crew and he is about to get paid. He did everything he was supposed to. He was brought in as a utility player who would play good defense and spark the offense from the lead off spot.

Hakim signed a one year deal with Our Bucks, making this a contract year. He is coming in to jump start the offense from the forward position. He has been known as a scorer who doesn't play much defense, and that's exactly what coach Scott is asking him to do. In fact I love what Skiles has said recently about Hakim.
Skiles said.  “His niche in the league has been to come in off the bench and score on second unit guys.  That’s been what he’s done well.  There’s no secret, that’s what you’re always trying to do as a coach is put guys in situations where they can have the best success, and that’s what he’s done the best.”
More than likely he will be playing a reserve role at the 4. Warrick will be there this season to be that all-too-often-named-but-never-accomplished title of "the spark of the bench." NBA teams are more concerned with the known scoring threats aka Bogut and Redd. When the second unit comes our Warrick will crush them. Warrick has a lot to prove this season and I do not expect him to let us down.

If Our Bucks can push the tempo and keep Warrick in a reserve role, he is dangerous, and a 6th M.O.Y. candidate

A scorer that doesn't play much defense - should fit right in with the Bucks.
