Today as fans of Our Bucks we have to ask ourselves some questions.
-
How do we approach the idea that Our Bucks are actually winning?
-
How do we feel about fair-weather fans?
-
What do Our Bucks do for/with Michael Redd?
-
How does tonight go with The Brooklyn New Jersey Lebrons Nets?
1. I am almost 25 years old, and I don't know if I have ever seen this much hype around Our Bucks. Let's be honest, the hype is about Brandon Jennings, who just happens to be here. Are you as cautious as I am? It's confusing, but lets embrace Our Second Place Bucks. If the season ended today, Our Bucks would be in the play-offs for the first time in years. Keep your smiles on and your fists in the air.
And encourage Brandon Jennings to get the High Top Fade back, it's sweet.
2. Success in Milwaukee leads to fans. Disappointment in Milwaukee leads to empty stands, just ask the Brewers in their second half this year. Our Bucks have let so many of us down over the years that it seems odd that they'd ever be able to bring back any of these fair weather types, but they have. More people are crowding the BC; no sell-outs, but the people are coming. Unlike the baseball types, I don't mind fair-weather fans for Our Bucks. It might just fool Brandon Jennings into thinking that this city/state actually like Our Bucks. The more the merrier in my book. I'm not going tell someone that "I was cheering for them when they won 25 games, and that makes me better than you." Like so many would say about The Brewers. Be a fan of Our Bucks in any form, I'll welcome you. Jump on board, and no matter where the train stops, you might just want to stay.
Enjoy your stay
3. Our Bucks need Michael Redd back as soon as possible. Our Bucks need to get the ball into the hands of Redd every time down the court. Our Bucks need him to score at will and get as many points as he can, and as soon as possible. Our Bucks need him back on the court badly. Our Bucks need Michael to be the man, the captain of the team, the leading scorer, because if he is not, he wont be good trade bait. We have seen what Our Bucks can do without him, and we like it. That needs to change for a short time so he can be marketable. He needs the rock, and he needs to shoot. Redd would be a great piece of the puzzle for any number of teams, and he plus extras could make a great trade. If Our Bucks would be able to group him with a couple expiring deals to a contender, or even semi-contender Our Bucks could get a good package in return. Would a tandem of Redd / Alexander / Elson and/or Thomas be enough of a scoring/salary dumping option to pry a serviceable Shooting Guard and a Protected 1st round pick. I think Our Bucks could be looking at some fun options for the lefty once the deadline approaches.
4. Tonight, The Nets. So far The Nets are off to a win less start. 0-11. Can Our Bucks make it 0-12 at the BC tonight? I'm leery, but without hometown boy Devin Harris, Courtney Lee, or (Larry Harris' finest) Yi Jianlian, The Nets don't pack much fire power. Chris Douglas-Roberts has filled in as a scoring option, but Brook Lopez is making himself a leader on The Nets. Lopez has averaged 18 points and 9 boards this season and is the only Net to start all 11 games. Oh yeah, don't forget, he could have been one of Our Bucks.
Neither of these guys will be playing tonight
Either way, Our Bucks come into this game having split four games with the Nets last year. I predict that tonight Our Bucks take the first meeting. The Nets are averaging 86 points per game this year. Look for Our Bucks to dismantle them, and lower that average a bit. 95-84, Our Bucks prevail, and Jennings blows the roof off the BC.
GO BUCKS!!!
