"No meat, No meat" that's what Prince was saying to the camera after hitting his second home run
of the night. In his post game interview with Trenni, he jokingly said he had a big steak before the game. Everybody's scapegoat/whipping boy, Derrick Turnbow, came through with his first save in a year, to the exact day. With a depleted bullpen, Ned brought in Turnbow to close out in the ninth, TBow did it, but it sure wasn't easy on the blood pressure. Dave Bush did just enough to get the job done, 6 innings and 4 runs in the place of Ben Sheets. The unsung hero of the game was Mitch Stetter who pitched scoreless 7th & 8th innings. Great to see Goeff Jenkins back at Miller Park, even better to see the way the fans treated him to a
standing ovation. From the Phillies perspective, Cole Hamels
couldn't get the job done. Fielder spoils
Hamels night. Lidge living
up to expectations. Some notes from the Phillies beat writer,
a Milwaukee native. The Capital Times has a segment
called hit or miss. Bugs and Cranks says, No Meat,
with a side of Turnbow. Prince is still on last years pace
for home runs.
Fielder Feasts, at least so says Jim Powell. Take a listen to Jim Powell's
postgame wrap up.
Today it's Jamie Moyer vs. Suppan. How old is Jamie Moyer? How does he still have a job? He's 45 years old and has been pitching in the major leagues since 1986!! Think about that. Pitching in the majors
for 22 years. He's been pitching before some of you were even born. Let's hope the Crew takes the old man out to pasture today.
Daunte Culpepper? In
Green and Gold? Um, no thanks I'll pass. Packers will have their first practice
on July 28th. Who will the Packers draft? Here's the Green Bay Press Gazette Video
draft preview. East Coast bias says, the NFL draft is more boring
than a baseball game.
This will make it
more interesting. Apparently the Vikings didn't have enough cash on hand to pay Jared Allen
his signing bonus.
Today's MUST READ - The Bob Boozer Jinx finds that Andrew Bogut wants a long term deal
with the Bucks. Great find JD.
The Bucky Channel continues it's
Bucks Survivor game.
The Admirals tied up the series with the Chicago Wolves yesterday
with a 2-0 victory. Rich Peverly, fresh from being sent down from Nashville, was all the Ads needed last night. His goal in the third period was all they needed. Goalie Pekka Rinne helped a great deal by denying 37 shots from the Wolves. Game 5 is tonight at the All State Arena and game 6 will be played Saturday night at 7:30 at the BC.
Congrats to Milwaukee Wave players Greg Howes and Marcio Leite as they earn
All-MISL Honors.
Thanks to Daily Drink reader Vinyl Records Rick (of the Mineshaft) for submitting this classic video of "The Crusher". I know TS, my old boss, will love this.
