The return of Mike Cameron jump started the Brewers' struggling offense last night. Cameron went 3-5 with a walk, 2 RBI's and two runs scored. Ben Sheets' return was a little underwhelming. Sheets pitched ok for 5 innings, only giving up 3 runs, but he had a career high 7 walks. Riske pitched a fine 6th, Torres not so much in the 7th, giving up three runs, then Mota and Gagne shut them down in the 8th & 9th. Amazingly, the Brewers offense only struck out 3 times the entire game. I had a chance to listen to some of the game on WGN radio. Ron Santo has to be the worst announcer I've ever heard, as half the time it seems he has no idea what's going on. As my Cubs friend Monster Dunk said, "Pat Hughes is going to heaven for putting up with Ron Santo."

The Brewers don't know what to do with Derrick Turnbow. Between the Green Pillars says Mike Cameron shakes things up. Bill Michaels knows what's going on. Mike Cameron brings the goods. The Chicago Tribune says the Cubs wasted their chances. Ben Sheets must step up for the Brewers. Cubs OF Fukudome will be on the cover of Sports Illustrated this week. Life on top isn't easy for the Cubs. Bugs & Cranks has the Brewers at #11 in their Power Rankings. Rumors and Rants is tired of SI overhyping the Cubs.

Daily Drink reader SB continues to dominate our Whack-A-Cub game. Can you beat her score of 75 Cubs whacked?

On the heels of the Roger Clemens news, Bugs & Cranks looks at country artists they'd want to have an affair with...or not.

Deal or no deal, it's a quick decision for undrafted NFL free agents. Greg Easterbrook of ESPN thinks it's impossible to grade the NFL draft. Badger QB Tyler Donovan is heading to the CFL.

It's the return of Ben Sheets, Mike Cameron and Whack-A-Cub

But first, it's Favre in EA Sports Madden NFL, through the years

The current Whack-A-Cub record is currently held by Daily Drink reader Stacy B, with 64. Are you good enough to beat that? If you do, send a screen capture our way and we'll dig something out of the SportsBubbler.com prize closet. Make sure you send that out to as many Brewers fans AND Cubs fans. I hear they like to eat their own.

After missing one start Ben Sheets is back on the mound today. After missing the first 25 games Mike Cameron hopes to spark the offense. Of all the players, Prince should be licking his chops at the site of Cubs pitching, Fielder has more home runs at Wrigley Field than any other visiting park. The Brewers offense always seems to do well at Wrigley and our series preview breaks down the pitching match ups. Our friends at BrewCrewBall analyze the Brewers defense after 25 games and are looking for your vote in the their weekly poll. As noted in yesterday's Daily Drink today is the 25th Anniversary of former Cubs manager Lee Elia and his classic rant.

We went through numerous Packers Draft grades yesterday. Here's a couple more to add to the list.

Here's a list of the undrafted free agents the Packers have picked up.  Two Badgers were signed yesterday. Swan song in KC?

Hotels in Green Bay are already getting booked.

Michael Redd to Cleveland? Bob Boozer Jinx says, it's the Deal of The Day.

Vander Blue will be wearing Cardinal and White.

I couldn't help but laugh at this song choice last night.

Yeah that's right, I watch Dancing with the Stars. What's it to you? Did you see her outfit?

Thanks to Daily Drink reader Polish Dave of Brooklyn NY for sending that our way.

Kids, if you're stuggling with one of your classes in school, it's best not to put a note out on Facebook saying you'll pay someone to write a paper on a book you didn't read. It's especially bad if you're the leading scorer on the basketball team.

Today's random music video some from a band that has new album being released today. Def Leppard. Here's something from back when they didn't suck.

We'll start with ESPN's Sunday Conversation with Brett Favre

Just say it Brett, "I won't came back" and people will stop asking/talking about it

Underwhelmed by the draft this weekend? Me too. Without having a pick in the first round it's hard to get excited about anything. It was surprising the Packers took Jordy Nelson as their first pick because it seems the Packers have plenty of depth at WR. No harm in taking two QB's, there's no harm in putting a little pressure on Aaron Rogers. It was a classic Ted Thompson draft.

Fox Sports gives the Packers a C+
CBS Sports gives the Packers a B-
ESPN sees Aaron Rodgers looking over his shoulder.
SI doesn't see immediate competition for Rodgers.
AOL Fanhouse Blog gives Green Bay a B-.

Steve Mariucci talked to Brett Favre about the draft and life.
NFL.com video of TE Jermichael Finley.

The JSOnline Packers blog has a disgusting amount of info in it.

ESPN missed several picks during commercial breaks.

Brian Brohm is going to be Packer

The Packers signed 3 undrafted players yesterday. Look for a lot more today.

Former Badger Jack Ikegwuonu was drafted, along with several other Badgers. Badger Centric gives a nice recap.

The Brewers inept offense continues. The Crew played their 8th extra inning game this season yesterday. The pitchers are doing their job. The offense? Not so much. Former Brewer Wes Helms came back to haunt the Brewers yesterday. Ouch. Dave Bush was sent down to AAA Nashville, which is shocking considering how bad Turnbow pitched yesterday. The Brewers need to DFA Turnbow ASAP. The Brewers caught the Marlins while they're playing better than they should. The Junkball Blues looks at the Brewers starting pitching efficiency. Between the Green Pillars examines the starting pitchers, of Brewers opponents.

Tomorrow will be the 25th Anniversary of The Greatest. Rant. Ever. (NSFW language)

Brett Favre was on Letterman last night. Talking retirement and the loss to the Giants.

(h/t awful announcing for the video)

Brett please, either you're retired or your not. Stop toying around with the issue and being vague. People are tired of this wishy washy crap. Lance Allen wants to believe he's retired, but after watching that video, he's not so sure

Brett is also going to be on the cover of Madden '09

You can't blame the pitchers for the Brewers loss yesterday. The loss falls squarely on the inept offense. Base running errors. Not just one, but several. Clutch hitting? Non-existent. Too many missed opportunities to even mention, so before I break something, I'll let the video play.

Jim Powell has a nice recap. Get your votes in for the weekly BrewCrewBall poll question. The Brewers are close to a deal with Braun. The Junkball Blues breaks down Rickie Weeks.  So who are the Brewers going to send down? Here's option D. Bugs and Cranks looks at Matt Mieske. Who? Anyone?

Buzz Williams hired two assistant coaches yesterday. Tony Benford and Aki Collins. Todd Rosiak interviews all three.

Any Badgers going to be drafted this weekend? Badger Centric takes a look.

ESPN has the Packers on the clock.

Here's a list of several Mock drafts.
Rivals.com - Packers - Brandon Flowers CB Virginia Tech
Fox Sports - Dustin Keller TE Purdue
SI - Antoine Cason CB Arizona

Buge Hoobs takes a look at the girlfriends of some of the draft picks. The Ohio State girlfriend? wow.

Is Andrew Bogut worth the money he wants? The Bob Boozer Jinx looks at the numbers.

The Admirals lost to Chicago last night and are now down 3-2 in the series. Game 6, tomorrow night at the BC.

Badger Centric has a nice recap of the Office. If you missed Lost don't go here.

"No meat, No meat" that's what Prince was saying to the camera after hitting his second home run of the night. In his post game interview with Trenni, he jokingly said he had a big steak before the game. Everybody's scapegoat/whipping boy, Derrick Turnbow, came through with his first save in a year, to the exact day. With a depleted bullpen, Ned brought in Turnbow to close out in the ninth, TBow did it, but it sure wasn't easy on the blood pressure. Dave Bush did just enough to get the job done, 6 innings and 4 runs in the place of Ben Sheets. The unsung hero of the game was Mitch Stetter who pitched scoreless 7th & 8th innings. Great to see Goeff Jenkins back at Miller Park, even better to see the way the fans treated him to a standing ovation. From the Phillies perspective, Cole Hamels couldn't get the job done. Fielder spoils Hamels night. Lidge living up to expectations. Some notes from the Phillies beat writer, a Milwaukee native. The Capital Times has a segment called hit or miss. Bugs and Cranks says, No Meat, with a side of Turnbow. Prince is still on last years pace for home runsFielder Feasts, at least so says Jim Powell. Take a listen to Jim Powell's postgame wrap up.

Today it's Jamie Moyer vs. Suppan. How old is Jamie Moyer? How does he still have a job? He's 45 years old and has been pitching in the major leagues since 1986!! Think about that. Pitching in the majors for 22 years. He's been pitching before some of you were even born. Let's hope the Crew takes the old man out to pasture today.

Daunte Culpepper? In Green and Gold? Um, no thanks I'll pass. Packers will have their first practice on July 28th. Who will the Packers draft? Here's the Green Bay Press Gazette Video draft preview. East Coast bias says, the NFL draft is more boring than a baseball game. This will make it more interesting. Apparently the Vikings didn't have enough cash on hand to pay Jared Allen his signing bonus.

Today's MUST READ - The Bob Boozer Jinx finds that Andrew Bogut wants a long term deal with the Bucks. Great find JD.

The Bucky Channel continues it's Bucks Survivor game.

The Admirals tied up the series with the Chicago Wolves yesterday with a 2-0 victory. Rich Peverly, fresh from being sent down from Nashville, was all the Ads needed last night. His goal in the third period was all they needed. Goalie Pekka Rinne helped a great deal by denying 37 shots from the Wolves. Game 5 is tonight at the All State Arena and game 6 will be played Saturday night at 7:30 at the BC.

Congrats to Milwaukee Wave players Greg Howes and Marcio Leite as they earn All-MISL Honors.

Thanks to Daily Drink reader Vinyl Records Rick (of the Mineshaft) for submitting this classic video of "The Crusher". I know TS, my old boss, will love this.
