You can't stop Gabe Kapler you can only hope to contain him.
Gabe Kapler comes off the bench to hit a game winning single. I'm glad to see his shoulder has healed. But poor
Gabe Gross. You've just scored the winning run in extra innings, your teammates mob you, then you walk into the locker room and find out you've been traded to the Alcatraz of Major League Baseball - Tampa Bay. Ouch. With the return of Mike Cameron next week, plus with Gwynn and Kapler playing well, Gross knew he was going to be the odd man out. It was a game that should have been over in 9 innings, but Rickie Weeks failed to turn a simple double play ball that would have
ended the game. But at the same time, Gagne should have never been in that situation to begin with. That is now 4 blown saves for Gagne and it's only April 23rd! Luckily for the Crew they're 3-1 in the games that he's blown, but you have to imagine the Brewers are looking to see if Mota or Riske could be the new closer.
(ESPN can only have these up for 24 hours, so it will be gone later today.)
The Junkball Blues gives his take on yesterday's game from his seats. The St. Louis whiner at Bugs and Cranks says, Bullsh*t. The St. Louis press says "Wacky and Wild, but not a Win" BrewCrewBall does a fine job of breaking down BABIP (Batting Average on Balls in Play). They also have a fan opinion poll going this week, go over and vote. Today marks the return on Geoff Jenkins to Miller Park. Our friends over at Right Field Bleachers have, count em, one, two, three, four posts on the return of Geoff. Nice work guys. My favorite Jenkins story comes from my previous job, I was in a recording studio at 620 WTMJ with Geoff working on a commercial when he got a call from his agent telling him that Davey Lopes had been fired. I also saw Geoff crush one of the longest home runs at College World Series, back when he played for USC. The ball landed somewhere in the zoo's parking lot.
Jim Powell had his Tuesday 5th inning chat yesterday, you can read the transcript here.
Thanks to Daily Drink reader "Vinyl Records Rick", for sending us this trip down memory lane - Where have you gone Luis Aparicio?
Atomic Trousers follows up yesterday's must read, with another one today - Why the closer is the most overrated player.
The Bob Boozer Jinx looks at Scott Skiles and the Larry Brown syndrome. The Bob Boozer Jinx is brand new to Sportsbubbler and is worth checking out. Every post from JD Mo is well written, smart and edgy. Bookmark it and read it every day. My brother Dennis said it best "also wanted to mention that I think that Bob Boozer blog guy does an excellent job. He makes the Bucks more interesting than they deserve." Even if you're not a fan of the NBA, check it out.
We're also looking for bloggers who want to write about the Badgers, Packers, Marquette, Preps and other schools. If you're interested or know of anyone, send a note to me, dan@sportsbubbler.com
The UW-M baseball team gave a beatdown to the Iowa Hawkeyes yesterday.
Badger Centric takes a look at the Border battle, recruiting style.
Congrats to Marquette's golf team for bringing home MU's first Big East title!
It appears the Bradley Center will not become the Silk Exotic Dance Center.
Very cool, NBC is going to be digging into their sports archive.
Packers fans are amped for the draft party. Who will the Packers draft? Who knows. Until then, here's "mocking the mockery of mock drafts."

Erin Andrews offers suggestions on how to win her over. She apparently wants someone who showers on regular basis, which eliminates 98% of the Daily Drink readers. She's also going to be covering the Spelling Bee for ESPN. She going to be a distraction for the boys. My money is on a girl winning this year.
Because their album came out yesterday and they're coming to the Riverside
Another thanks to Vinyl Records Rick for sending this picture over. It talks of my former employment & Birthday.

Speaking of birthdays how about this beanbag toss game I got from the Mrs. and hand painted by our friend. Thanks Gordie!
