First up, your Afternoon Delight's worth of links
The WIAA playoff brackets have been released. Did your high school make it?
The Packers are going to have to make some roster moves soon. I'm cautiously optimistic that Justin Harrell can provide some quality minutes on the D-line in the 2nd half of the season.
Here's a news story sure to trump the Favre headlines: Several NFL players might be getting suspended soon for steroid use.
The Milwaukee Iron was formally introduced at a news conference today. Check out the video.
Does Sal Pal Feel the Same Way About Brett Favre as He Does About Barry Sanders?
ESPN is coming under fire from the Patriots for their report earlier this week that the Pats were unhappy with Tom Brady's choice of a doctor.
Jay Glazer is not shy about wanting to take down the big boys at ESPN...
It's not news that the NFL is considering adding a game or two to the regular season, but they also considered adopting the relegation model of European "football"??? Wow... In a lot of ways that would be pretty cool, but I also wonder how it would impact fantasy football... I guess we'll never know since they called the relegation idea unfeasible.

For those who liked the old Daily Drink logo (Don Gato), we bring it back every Friday.
Welcome to The Daily Drink's Weekend Six Pack! It's a recap of the Top 6 (or so) stories from the past week.
Let's imagine that ESPN took control of the Weekend Six Pack today. Here's a possible look at their top 6 stories of the week:
#6 - Favre Denies Giving Millen Information
#5 - John Anderson says the Favre controversy is being blown out of proportion
#4 - Favre Confirms Contact With Millen Prior to Packers Game
#3 - Passing information over the phone? The NFL can do much worse.
#2 - Hruby: When Brett Met Matt
#1 - Mayne Street - coming to espn.com on Nov 11!
On the other hand, I've been sick of the Favre drama for months, so here are Post-It Note Paulie's top 6 (or so) stories from the week that was:
#6 - The Badgers held their Basketball Media Day this week.
Buckingham U. Blogger was there and so was SportsBubbler with a
boatload of video#5 -
The High School Play of the week - Just another example of the awesome range of SportsBubbler's state sports coverage
#4 - The Polish Pickle
has issues with both ESPN and Favre.#3 -
The Packers D completely dominated Indianapolis at Lambeau Field last Sunday. It was the perfect way to go into the bye week and it sure was enjoyable from my seats in row 56.
#2 - The Brewers
lost Jack Zduriencik to the Seattle Mariners. HUGE loss for the Brewer front office, but a great opportunity for Jack Z. Now
Doug Melvin has even more work to do.
#1 - It's not sports-related, but it is my #1 moment of the week. I got engaged to a truly awesome woman who is foolish enough to think that a blog/sports/TV/indie music junkie is worth spending the rest of her life with. Sorry Gridiron Girl, I'm off the market. Now,
keep your shirt on.
Of Montreal will be at the Pabst on Sunday night. I saw them at the Pitchfork Music Festival (I recommend that festival to anyone who loves cheap, non-crowded indie music festivals, btw) in Chicago in 2007. They put on quite the spectacle.
And there you have it. Have a great weekend everyone. Dan should be back from his vacation in sunny San Diego next week.
