Drive-in movies coming to Miller Park

From the Brewers Press Release.......

"MILWAUKEE, WI – The nostalgia of the classic American drive-in movie theater will be brought back to life as the parking lots of Miller Park will be the site of “Miller Park Movies,” a quartet of weekend double features planned for June 5-6 and August 7-8.
The events are being produced by Brewers Enterprises, the event planning arm of the Milwaukee Brewers that stages non-baseball events throughout Miller Park and its surrounding grounds.

“Miller Park Movies” will take place in the Miller Lot, and the Klement’s Sausage Haus will be open for concessions and restrooms. A full-size screen will be erected for the movies, and the audio tracks will be transmitted via each auto’s radio.
“Brewers Enterprises is always looking for creative events to entertain families at Miller Park, and we believe the ‘Miller Park Movies’ will be a unique addition to our summertime schedule,” said Brewers Executive Vice President – Business Operations Rick Schlesinger.

On Friday, June 5, the Will Ferrell comedy “Anchorman” will lead off, followed by the classic 1975 thriller “Jaws.” Baseball will be the theme on Saturday, June 6, as “The Sandlot” will be the early movie while “Major League” will serve as the closer. “Major League” will be returning to its roots as it will be presented on the location where it was shot - Milwaukee County Stadium. The movie stars Brewers Hall-of Fame broadcaster Bob Uecker.

Tickets for the June 5-6 “Miller Park Movies” will go on sale TOMORROW (Friday) at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available at the Miller Park Box Office, on brewers.com, by phone at 414-902-4000, and on the night of the event—space permitting.  There will be space for 400 vehicles each night.  The cost for vehicle admission each night is $20, which will include a parking pass and two admission tickets.  Each additional person in the vehicle will be charged $5. Parking lot gates on June 5-6 will open at 7:30 p.m. each night with the first movie beginning at dusk (approximately 8:30 p.m.).

The August movies have not been announced, and tickets for those screenings will be available at a later date. International MINI and ESPN Radio 540 will serve as sponsors of the Miller Park Movies."

$20? Hmm not sold on the idea for $20 bucks for 2 people. Would you go?

$20 is too high especially since the screen will be obscured by lots of grill smoke.

Are you guys kidding?  $20 is how much you'll pay for one movie for two people at a normal movie theater, this is a novel idea (at least for younger people), it's comparatively cheap and a great date idea.

Don't be dumb.  $20 is not expensive.

I agree with Brian.  I'd spend $20 taking my date to a theatre for the tickets alone.  This way, I can take my own food, a grill, a cooler, chairs and whatever ammenities I want.

If you go with friends, 4 people in 1 car for $30 seems alright.

And didn't Miller Park ban people without game tickets from paying $15 just to tailgate before Brewer games?

I would say it wouldnt be too bad if the movies they were showing were new... But all the movies they are showing you can pick up at the store for 5 bucks.  Way too much money for movies you can catch on TV.

i think 20 is fine.  you pay that much at a regular movie and then get a great memorable way to spend time together as a family.  great date as well

This costs more for my family of four than going to any other movie theatre except Bayshore.  And that's to see some decade old movies they probably pay little to nothing to show.

It's such a cool idea.  It's a shame they ruined it by charging such a high price.

Seriously. It's twenty bucks. You can't even get a pack of smokes and a Red Bull for that hardly anymore.  It's an original date idea for once. And as a bonus she thinks I'm more "romantic" and all I did was drop a 20 spot? Deal.

Yeah, you guys are ridiculous.  I know times are tough, but $20?  That's absolutely nothing.  It's nearly 4 hours of movies, and it's different and new.  Ryan, KT, Erik, and klwillis...you are cheap asses.  Brian, no they did not ban tailgating without a ticket, why on earth would they refuse revenue?
