Brad Nelson has signed with...

In not-so-shocking news, Brad Nelson has signed with the Seattle Mariners.

Got a text from Brad's agent saying they had several offers but felt the best opportunity for Brad to establish himself in the majors was with the M's.

Obviously Jack Zduriencik liked what he saw from Brad over the years in the Brewers system and is willing to give him the opportunity to succeed.

As we said last time, Brad's a class act and wish him nothing but the best with the Mariners.

No details as of yet on the contract, when I get them, I'll post them here.

7:33am UPDATE: It's a minor league deal, he'll being heading to Tacoma.

If Nelson needs a place to stay, my grandmother lives only about 45 minutes from the ballpark in a big house by herself.

BTW, 4:24am, impressive! Was that second feeding? Maybe you should moonlight as a morning sports blogger for some European market.....

Great.  Just what the Mariners needed... ANOTHER high-minors 1B/'OF'/DH type to go with Jeff Clement, Greg Halman, Mike Carp, Bryan LaHair, Chris Shelton, Mike Morse...

Well he can't do any worse with the Mariners as he did with the Brewers.
