    Who should the Bucks Pick?

This draft will be a very important one. Especially after the Harris firing. The next GM will decide where this franchise is going to go. Are we going to focus our attention on Redd which we have for so many years. Or are we going to go in  a different direction. Safe to say we have our Center and PF locked up for years to come. Bogut and Yi are our future Center and Power Forward. Since the TJ Ford trade we have tried to bandage the PG spot for a few years now. The position that the Bucks need to address is PG if they are willing to not move Redd. Which is unlikely. If we can get a stud at PG like Chris Paul in New Orleans we will be set for years to come.

Is there a stud PG in this years class? Eric Gordon from Indiana, Tywon Lawson North Carolina, Russel Westbrook UCLA to name a few. Most of the players that in Mock drafts this coming year that are projected in the first 10 picks of the 2008 draft are Freshman. Its a tossup  if they come out. We'll see this June.

Derrick Rose and OJ Mayo will be possibilities, though I don't know i would want to deal with Mayo, or Rose' bro.

We need to take Rose if we have a shot.  I'd take him over Beasley

That's funny!  Beasley is the force we need inside!  YI is not a power forward!  He isn't anywhere strong enough and he floats around the outside too much.  We have MO at the point.  Until he is traded, we have MO at the point with Sessions in the wings.  Rose is not Chris Paul.  Eric Gordon is another Ben Gordon type player.  A shooter and little else.  Redd will be dealt.  Mo could be dealt to Miami along with our #1 to move up.  We need to focus on defense.  Larry Harris was too busy looking at offensive stats and paid little attention on defense and team chemistry.  The only guy untouchable is Bogut.

We need a forward more than a point guard.  We have Mo, with Sessions waiting in the wings if Mo should be traded.  Small forward is a joke.  Mason, Simmons, etc should be cut.  YI is a SF in a 6'11" body.  I question if he'll ever be able to defend.  If not, trade him now.

We need a big. And I mean a big with an inside mentality.

The only argument I would have with Beasley is that he is somewhat of a defensive liability.  If the bucks are going with an uptempo game, he's definately the guy.  I wouldn't rule out DJ White as a lottery pick.  Solid mid-range jumper and plays great post defense.  He also displayed a great work ethic playing on the schizo IU team.

Beasely will likely be gone. I like 6'11" Anthony Randolph. He's long and quick. The Bucks have too many scorers and not enough guys with hops and long arms to break up things on defense. This team needs an athletic 4 around 6'8" or more with long arms and quickness, and a power player inside. They also need a pure point and not a 2 playing a 1 who's instinctively always looking for his shot. I'd place Charlie Villanueva on a weight training program during the off season (which started about 2 months ago for the Bucks) and get him to replace 10 lbs of fat with 15 lbs of muscle--that would give him the confidence and ability to maybe be more of the inside guy we need. Then we'd need an athetic 4 and a true 1. The 4 we can get in this draft and then we find a way to get the 1. Sessions is more of a Mo Williams (2 playing a 1), but I'd like to see what he can do.

Silly me. Replace 4 spot with 3 in my last email. As an aside to the draft subject, Kudos to Bogut for really stepping up his defense this year. I did not expect that and it bodes well for the future.

According to Realgm.com, Mo has some stupid clause in his contract that messes with his trade value...thus making him virtually untradeable.  Which sucks, because Redd, Villanueva & he are the ones who absolutely MUST go..

What do you guys think about Love if he comes out? I know he may not be ready yet but this team

could use players with his basketball IQ. Would also like Rose and have him and Sessions be our

point guards of the future. Would like to see a trade of Redd for a high draft pick and get Rose and a big.

Re: Who should the Bucks Pick?

The Bucks should absolutely 100% pick Derrick Rose. We should do what we can to get him. He is light years ahead of anyone else out on the floor right now. It sucks that we missed out on Chris Paul, but we simply weren't in a position to draft him at the time. We can't miss out on Rose. Even if we are a couple spots down in the lottery, I would trade up to get him.

The new GM will definitely be deciding the future path of the Bucks, and it will be nice to see someone in here with a vision. We need an identity, a coach who has a system, and chemistry between players. Rose, Villy, & Bogut are all solid. Young, but solid. I've been saying this for years on this board, but we should do whatever we can to get a strong banger down at the 4 spot, and we need SOMEONE to play perimeter defense. I hope the new GM shops Redd to see what is out there, and does something to take care of the horrible logjam at 2/3 right now. We need to be rid of Simmons. I think Mason could still work out off the bench with a guy like Rose running the team.

Kohl is a BIG problem as owner right now, and I really hope Bridgeman & Co. can put something together to buy the Bucks. This is a major, major crossroads for the franchise. You never know what's going to happen, as the situation in Seattle is proving right now. The Bucks could be out of Milwaukee in the next 5 years if we don't get our $hit together.
