no. that is not true. evridge transferred b/c hot shot recruit, josh freeman, was basically handed the job. evridge saw the writing on the wall and left. donovan was average at worst not best. he has some excellent games and made some nice plays. i would have given him a B- last year. this with basically all new receivers and a backfield that was injured or suspended all year. evridge will be working with an extremely deep backfield, a better line, more season receivers, and a more seasoned a better tight end group. if he plays as well as donovan, and fully expect him to, we will have a dynamite offense. comparing him to his freshman year, imo, is not a good comparison b/c he has added 3 years of maturity. he clearly has the tools to be an excellent qb in the big ten and if he doesn't, sherer has the tools as well. i am more worried about the receiving corp taking the next step than i am at qb.
