Just spent 2k on a new 47-inch HDTV and there's no horizontal adjustment. Everytime Prince Fielder comes on the screen my wife asks me to adjust the set. 'How can anyone that fat run and play baseball?" asks the wife, who knows nothing about the game. I reply that he's not really that fat, just big-boned. Who is right?

If you "just" spent 2k on a 47" HDTV (meaning recently), you got ripped off.

He's both.  I met him once, at the mall.  He is a big guy.  But he gets the job done.  So.......

If you're watching a non-HD show on a widescreen TV with the picture stretched to fill the screen, everyone will look fatter than usual.

Your TV is fat.  Maybe you have it on DC instead of AC.  Also, try cutting down on the number of premium channels you feed it.
