Personally, I was thinking around C-, just a tad below average.

I was somewhat shocked to see that The Sporting News gave the Pack an A-, and the 3rd highest overall, to the Chiefs and Dolphins. 

B+

Picked some projects - which is fine considering we're pretty solid overall personnel wise.

An excellent backup to ARod - a top 10 TE prospect, a top 10 DE prospect, 2 big bodies and nasty tudes for Campen, a good sized - fast CB from the SEC, and a 6-3 215 lb studly red zone threat slot receiver...

Jordy may have given some pause... but obviously the scouts and TT saw something special there. DD ain't gettin any younger...

I give the Pack a B.  I really like Jordy Nelson.  He caught 122 passes and 11 TD's on an offense with virtually no other threats.  He was the man and defenses could not stop him.  I can't wait to see how defenses are going to try and matchup with the Driver, Jennings, Jones and Nelson in a 4WR set on those second and 7's and third and 8 type of downs.  I also like that Nelson is not a juke and jive type of guy.  He gets the ball and is heading toward the goal line right away.  He really looks the part of a football player.

Brohm and Lee in the 2nd round were both excellent value.  The TE is raw but with a power forward type body (ala Gates) and could possibly develop into something special.  Also two athletic O-linemen both of which seem to have a little bit of bad boy mean streak in them.  The D-lineman Thompson is smart and had a pretty decent senior season.  Certainly the Pack, with their D-line depth, are a team that can afford to let him fully mature and develop. 

The second WR is a question for me but we'll see what develops there.  And finally the second QB, Flynn, helps them with the needed training camp depth and will probably end up on their practice squad for further development once they're able to find a veteran backup.

So, I think Nelson makes an immediate impact.  Lee is probably a nickel back with an eye to a future starting spot.  And the TE has a finally high ceiling down the road.  Brohm is as much a question as any QB is in the draft.  No one really never knows for sure how QB's will make the transisition to the pros.  A good draft but certainly it has the potential to be either great or a bust.  Only time will tell.

Everyone here in the heart of the Big 12 north country were really high on Nelson - thought he was the best receiver in the Big 12 overall (not just the north).  While it may have been a bit high for him based on what other "talent scouts" were saying, TT and MM must have seen something special in him and didn't want to take a chance - they must have really wanted this kid!  And as I have said before - TT & MM have a very good track record of finding WR talent (see Greg Jennings and James Jones).

Of course the FINAL grades cannot be made until we actually see if/how well they play once they get their chance - but at this point in time the grades are based on expectations of the players' potential - and how that stacks up to where the team was drafting.

It is only fair to consider that we picked up Ryan Grant with our 6th round pick in THIS draft, and he has already turned in a season of close to all pro level performance.  That already puts the grade up to at least a C.

I like what they did! I give them a C+... Time will tell how good they will be.....Brohm might be the steal of the draft!

A stupid comment?  To say you can't grade a draft before the players have played?  I'm sorry, there is NOTHING in the world of sports more futile than grading a draft before the players have played, whether it's coming from talking heads on ESPN or dudes living in momma's basement.  A couple years ago the Texans were credited with the worst draft pick in history when they chose Williams over Bush, and I don't recall TT getting great marks on his choice of Greg Jennings in the second round.  If you really have nothing better to do, then have at it, but don't call me stupid for pointing out the obvious.

 If Brohm develops and Nelson is better than I expect him to be that grade might go us to the A range. I don't think James Jones has that great of an upside.  I've always thought Ruvell is a decent #4 or #5 with very limited upside.  JJ to me is a #3.  If Nelson can develop into a reliable starter long term with Jennings (I'm sure this is what TT hopes) the grade goes up. 

 The dam Chiefs, when they nabbed Flowers one pick ahead of us in round two.....screwed things up a bit.  Would have been nice to add both Flowers and Lee as well as the TE.  I think TT traded down hoping he could still land Flowers.   Lee was a nice pick.  The DE and TE were nice. 

Then they got some projects; hopefully one or two works out

Alright, I know its irresistable but its really a pretty silly exercise.  Besides the fact that most of us know relatively little about these players except what was googled immediately after the draft, you can't really judge these guys for a couple years.  I know, I'm paddling upstream here.

Given the depth and the youth on the team, the Packers did exactly what they should have done - draft players with athletic talent that they can groom into quality starters. Not all of them will make it - but I am betting between Nelson, Brohm, Lee, Finley, Thompson (and perhaps Sitton or Gaicomini) that they will have 2-3 starting caliber players. Finley has huge upside - a bit raw, but fast and long.

 And, yes, You can't grade a draft for at least 2-3 years until these players have played and we can see what they will actually do.

I would give it C to C+.... I think Brohm was steal and Nelson was reach....Other than that until training camp gets here we won't know what we truly got.
