Kids Brother:
When your team still gets outperformed year after year by worse seeds, you have to come to the conclusion that the Conference Championship is not signifying as much as you would like.
01-02 - UW #8 Seed - Lost to #1 Maryland (eventual champ) *UW won B10
02-03 - UW #5 Seed - Lost to #1 Kentucky *UW won B10
03-04 - UW # 6 Seed - Lost to #3 Pitt
04-05 - UW #6 Seed - Lost to #1 UNC (eventual champ)
05-06 - UW #9 Seed - Lost to #8 Arizona
06-07 - UW #2 Seed - Lost to #7 UNLV
07-08 - UW #3 Seed - Lost to #10 Davidson *UW won B10
So 2 years out of 7 constitutes "year after year" (and 1 out of the 3 they were champs)? LOL. Nice try. I guess whatever lies you need to come up with to make yourself feel better.... but it reflects poorly on the rest of us when you do it.
Personally, I prefer to hold the powers that be in our own program accountable to improve our lackluster performance opposed to looking for chinks in UW's armor to exploit (unsuccessfully).

You're a sad little boy. Does phrasing it as "three years in a row" make you feel any better? Let me give you the ol' Abe-ariffic line: LOL! No wait. ROFL!

Not really, unless you looking like an idiot would make me feel better. Why don't you try counting those years again, turbo. Maybe you could ask a friend to help? I bet between you and Rockemon, it could be conquered.
(See below for Answer Key)
A: TWO years

AbeFroman:
We could finish 2nd in the BE, 2nd in the BE tourney, and make the Final Four and we still wouldn't really have won anything when it comes right down to it.... basically a string of moral victories (which aren't the end of the world- would still be considered a highly successful year here at MU).
So going to the Final Four would not be considered a highly successful year at other schools if they didn't win the conference championship or tournament? In Wisconsin's Final Four season, they finished sixth in the B10. Apparently that season was a total bust. Also, when a team goes to the Final Four, they are the champions of that region. That constitutes winning something. They cut down the nets, get a trophy and even, you'll like this, hand out t-shirts! That is one big celebration for a moral victory! I'm sure you'll make up some excuse as to why that's not the case (or it's more likely you'll just ignore this post) but I just felt obliged to once again point out just how idiotic and ignorant your posts are.
Considering Holy Cross, LaSalle, Loyola, Texas Western, San Francisco, Utah, Wyoming and, of course, CCNY have all won National Championships more recently than your beloved Badgers, I guess you have the right to be a little bitter.

Depends what school.... if UCLA, Duke, Kansas, UNC, etc. ended the season without anything to show for it, it would not be considered a highly successful season. If schools like MU and UW had a string of top 2 or 3 showings in the conference/conf. tourney and made deep tourney runs, it most likely would be (depending on expectations).... but they still wouldn't have anything to show for it.
For the UW program and that FF, it was a very successful season at that point in time. If UW finished 6th in the conference and went to the FF next year, I would say that was a very average season... at best. Most people put WAY too much stock in a 4 game tournament stretch.
Confernence championships are a huge deal.... that is the whole point of having a conference. Otherwise they wouldn't keep track of the records.
Neither MU or UW fans have any grounds to be bragging about NCs.... those are ancient history..... not even the same sport any more.

Oops - what a huge miss. I reversed the 9 and 8 seed in that year. So no way could we have expected the great Bo Ryan to beat that 8 seed...to win that game would have been monumental due to the overwhelming odds. Can you see what glimmers of hope you actually hold on to? A little sensitive about our in state rival aren't you, troll4life?

Typical responses from Abe. No one plays the role of Badger apologist quite like the Sausage King.

I just don't like to see anybody intentionally posting fabrications.... especially fellow MU backers.... it makes the rest of us look bad. I defend the truth just as fiercely when blatant lies are posted on the UW forum. It is funny how I am attacked from both sides for being objective.... I guess we all make sacrifices.

True, true. Many have sacrificed too many minutes acknowledging badgers for life like you. Guilty. But good one calling yourself objective. Way to make us ROFL you jokester. Someone says Bo has a hair out of place and you have a fit.

No, they keep track of records to determine who makes it to the NCAA tournament. That's why an undefeated Southern Conference team was talked about as being on the bubble last year. Winning your conference gets you one thing - a trip to the NCAA tournament.

Foolishness. It has nothing to do with it.....
1. They had conference championships long before they had the NCAA tournament
2. Winning the regular season conference title only gets you an invite in one conference (I think)... the Ivy League. The rest use the confernece tourney. Of course, conference champs in the major conferences get at large berths anyways because of their record, but it isn't because they won the conference.
Please tell me you guys are just pretending to be this stupid. But I guess if they can get you to believe in a magic all-powerful superhero in the sky, anything is possible.

Yes Abe, I'm pretending to be stupid by contending that conference championships mean nothing in light of an NCAA championship. Seriously, I can't believe I would think that. My sense of what is important is truly off.
As I've written before, I didn't go to Marquette, so my beliefs in a book or JC are unknown to you (I'm not even Christian - how do you like that one?). Maybe I should start praying to you, since you are the all-knowing...

I just wanted to once again point out that this paragraph makes absolutely no sense and actually contradicts itself.

You don't have to be a Christian to be duped into that belief.

Touche. Everyone needs something to believe in Abe. Maybe you try something other than revolutionist movies and sausages.
