I wouldn't use gutless, just a bunch of pawns. The sportswriters are well controlled by the Brewer management. Any dissension in the ranks with a bad story means that the Brewers don't have to talk to that writer anymore. They have plenty of other pawns willing to take their info. Basically, the Brewers can blackball anyone they want if they are not felt to be good exposure for the team. Once a writer is blackballed, they aren't much use to their media source either. Np writer in Milwaukee is above being blackballed in this town. They all want their jobs. Noone's going to take the fall to expose Melvin or Ned Yost.

So who are these people that have been "blackballed"?

no one is going to get Black balled.. no one.  why? because the Brewers need the sportswriters.  What it comes down to is the JS big wigs refused to hire writers that write with the guts of previous Brewer sportswriters.

The Journal had a guy who ripped Gorman Thomas.  But Gorman knew he had it coming and said so.  the guy had played ball in college or some where along the line.

The Sentinal always had the tough reporters.  their newspaper mascot was this old scrawgy  dawg.  And they were proud of it.

But right now, the only people that Haudricourt  has the guts to rip is a girl scout cookie sale.

Yost should have been fired last year.

Melvin has been reaping the benefits of the previous GM who really drafted the team of today.

And Attanasio proved again to be a BUD wannabe by going with the cheap on Cordero.
