A couple trades I would be exploring

Dan Gadzuric to NO for a 2nd rd pick   The Bucks get to dump a mistake and some money and move on.  The Hornets get a backup to Tyson Chandler and somebody who fits their team very well.  Another big body for Shaq, Duncan, Gasol, Boozer, etc.

Mo Williams for Udonis Haslem  Heat get an up-tempo point guard to go with Wade/Marion/Beasley as they become Suns of the South.  Bucks get the physical power forward they desperately need.  A 10/10 guy who doesn't need the ball to be a useful player.  He sets screens, hits open 12 footers, passes, makes FTs and is a good team guy.  Allows CV to go to his natural 3 spot.  We'd have a pretty big, long physical front line with those three. You fix 2 problem areas on this team (physical power forwar and the small forward spot).

Draft Rose If we were to get lucky in the lottery, we'd have a starting 5 of Bogut/Haslem/CV/Redd/Rose with Yi, Sessions and Mason filling out your 8 man rotation.  Not bad in the East, plus we'd have a lot more cap flexibility.

    if not, then

Bell for TJ Ford  Toronto gets rid of Ford and gets some defense and experience in the backcourt.  We get a PG to split time with Sessions.

I'm not crazy about this draft (except for Rose) and especially Beasley.  He is exactly what we already have in CV and Yi.

    Another Route:

Redd, Voskul and Mason for Jason Kidd and Josh Howard Dallas can move Terry back to point, and they get another elite scorer to go with Dirk. Mason fills out the hole left by Howard.  Kidd only has 1 year left on his contract and Dallas gets to get rid of two of the main reasons they sucked so bad in the playoffs.  Howards comments might get him run out of town.  Terry/Redd/George/Nowitzki/Dampier with Stack/MaseVoskul is a better team than they had last year.  Bucks get to move Mo to shooting guard and Sessions gets to watch Kidd for a year.  Howard fills our gaping hole at 3.  Kidd/Mo/Howard/CV/Bogut is an up-tempo, high scoring team that still struggles defensively.  Kidd's expiring contract becomes another trading chip.  Only think I don't like is Kidd refusing to play here, and us actually getting worse in the backcourt defensively. With Kidd running the show, though, Mo and CV both avg. 20 and Bogut and Howard both get 15.  If Skiles can figure out the defense, it may work.

    or

Mo and Bell for Luther Head and Shane Battier  Houston gets a desperately needed scorer in the backcourt. We get a 3 that is a terrific defender.  Sessions/Redd/Battier/CV/Bogut  with Yi/Head/Mason  could be a good team if Skiles can get CV and Sessions to play D around Battier.

I have no idea if trades work financially and what contracts/ draft picks would have to be added for them to be fair.  I also don't know who is available, but it doesn't hurt to ask.  If you make fair offers to teams, GMs are willing to make trades if they see it makes them better.  Mo or Redd would make A LOT of teams better.  We have to find the pieces that are going to make us better out there.

You have to assume that someone actually wants our trash.  Especially DG

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice

No one man's trash is another man's 2nd hand trash. No one wants those bad contracts.

I don't want Ford back in Milwaukee. Other than being fast, he doesn't have much to offer. And who would actually give up a 2nd round draft choice for Gadz? He has no worth or talent. Obviously never should have been given that last contract. Hard to even fathom that guy is paid to be a pro baller. Wasn't that Harris' doing? What was that guy smoking at the time. However it can be done, I agree to get rid of Redd, Williams, & Bell. I'm really tired of seeing these people on the court. There's only so much leverage these players have now. And if Redd thinks his prima donna antics are going to get Skiles fired like the last 2 coaches, I've got news for him. Skiles holds ALL the cards. As much as I think Kohl is as bad an owner as a political leader, he saw, or more correctly, heard the handwriting on the wall when he was personally booed by the fans at the BC last season. His prissy little ego couldn't take that and decided it was time to make some changes in the discipline department for this renegade band of pro athletes.

Many good points, henderson. I think Bucks fans should lower their expectations about what some of our guys are worth. I've got the Lakers-Jazz game on, and I can't see Redd, Mo or Simmons fitting in on either team. Both teams have plenty of shooters and wouldn't be in the market for lousy defenders. Gadzuric would fit in, off the bench -- most teams could use a 7-foot defender/rebounder who can run. With Gadz, I'd look for contending teams that don't care about the luxury tax and basically GIVE him away for a 2nd round pick. Gadz for a 2nd rounder? I think that's fair. Look at the draft this year -- a 2nd round pick isn't worth much. Neither is a 15-30 pick in the 1st round.

Mo may be the toughest player to trade. He's a dime-a-dozen player making $9 million a year for the next FIVE years who's about 5'11", doesn't see the floor well, plays worse defense than most guards, although he does shoot it VERY well. I have not seen a single team in these playoffs that could use a guy like that. He wouldn't even get minutes on most of the playoff teams.

Holy PIVOTAL GAME 4 - OVERTIME in Mormonvillle!!!!

This is what we do.We trade Michael redd to Dallas for Josh howard and Jerry stackhouse. Then we trade Our 2nd round pick , First round 2009 draft pick, Stackhouse, Charlie V, Desmond mason, Mo williams to thr rockets for Tracy McGrady. Go after Jermaine O'neal in the free agency market, and Hopefully we can draft a point Guard like derrick rose if not him we pick up westbrook or baylessor maybe even mayo. Our line up. Pg Rookie, Sg T-mac, Sf Josh Howard,Pf Jermaine O'neal,C Bogut! This could be POSSIBLE!!!

Wow, that's ingenius, hoopgenius. If I'm the Houston GM, I'm thinking that it would be best to wean the team off of McGrady, as good as he is. The Rockets were so injured this year against the Jazz that I might give McGrady one more year, maybe not. I have a feeling Jermaine O'Neil'd be tough to get, but even if Hammond fell short, the Bucks would make some noise in the East next year.

Gadzuric or Simmons would have to be a throw in for a trade involving Redd, most likely, and probably the pick. Redd + Gadzoo + lottery pick for possibly expiring contracts or a star player who wants to move. It would be a decent trade for a team with a star player who they have to move on a team that needs to rebuild. Desmond Mason or Charlie Bell, who have more reasonable salaries, might also be throw-ins.

Honestly, I'd rather keep Gadzuric than Mo Williams or Simmons. He's undisciplined, but he really can rebound, block some shots, run the floor, and is athletic. He just has no control. He still could be the hustle player the Bucks thought he was going to be, and an athletic 7 footer, even if he's overpaid, is still an athletic 7 footer. Bobby Simmons has turned out to be unremarkable, Mo Williams is absolutely the kind of PG the Bucks do not need, and both of these guys are costing the Bucks a ton.

However, any thought that the Bucks will be able to trick other teams out of their best players is sadly mistaken, as is the idea that the Bucks want aging stars, like Kidd and Nash. I think the best the Bucks can hope for next year would be one high-profile player in exchange for Redd, and a few new role players depending on what kind of trades go down.

What the Bucks need to look for are vets. Losing out on Toni Kucok and then later Joe Smith hurts the bucks more than you might thing. Those kinds of solid vets are always more useful off the bench than young guys who can hop out of the gym and have "potential."
