Braun sits again; Weeks back
By Tom Haudricourt
Thursday, Jul 3 2008, 12:21 PM
Phoenix - Leftfielder Ryan Braun, in his worst slump of the season and battling through a sprained right hand, is out of the lineup for the second consecutive game today as the Brewers play the series finale against Arizona.
Second baseman Rickie Weeks is back, however, after missing two starts with a bout of food poisoning. Weeks came off the bench Wednesday night to deliver a pinch-hit homer in the Brewers' 4-3 victory over the D-Backs.
Here are the lineups:
Brewers 2B Rickie Weeks SS J.J. Hardy RF Corey Hart 1B Prince Fielder 3B Russell Branyan LF Gabe Kapler CF Mike Cameron C Jason Kendall LHP Manny Parra
D-Backs SS Stephen Drew RF Justin Upton 2B Orlando Hudson 1B Conor Jackson 3B Mark Reynolds CF Chris Young C Robby Hammock LF Chris Burke RHP Brandon Webb

My Prediction
Brewers win 5-3.
Prince gets a HR
Parra gets the win
Hardy continue the streak

Loved the old dude in a poncho walking the Burro shot! BTW, did Anderson just call this "gravy day" for the Brewers in the open?

Stephen Drew is leading off for the D-Backs. He gets one square in the back on the first pitch of the game. I'm going to be very upset if they don't nail him.

FWIW, TH was on with the D-List guys this am and they asked him if he heard any rumblings about that play. He said he hadn't.

Re: 7/3 Game Thread - Parra vs. Webb - Game #4
The one concern I would have about it is that the ump might just toss Parra right out of the gate, and this team doesn't have the LR right now to pick that slack up. Maybe they should have Mota in there to start? ;-)

Fielder is not the best hitter on this team. He is supposed to drive in runs and he doesnt do it. Its pretty much appaling. What is his avg with RISP?

Re: 7/3 Game Thread - Parra vs. Webb - Game #4
How many groundouts will Webb have today? I'm thinking Fielder, Kendall, and Kapler will have 3 each. There will be 4 GIDP's. They need to get to Webb in the next two innings because if not, he'll get comfortable and his ball will sink a lot more.
