    My Eric Gagne thread

Yeah, it is only 2 outings now. But if Gagne gets back on track, that is actually just as good as picking up a big free agent. Since he was already written off by everyone, if this continues that could be the Brewers biggest "acquisition" in the second half.

I will agree with your post

"If we're gonna win, the players gotta play better,
the coaches gotta coach better, the manager gotta manage better,
and the owners gotta own better."

I'm not holding my breath, but there is a ton of upside there, that's for damn sure.

And eventually Torres will come back down to earth. It would be nice if Gagne can help pick up the slack.

I agree that it is nice that he seems to be coming around, but he has already cost us a good 5 wins or so(more or less putting us in first place right now), a free agent pickup wouldn't have cost us wins already with their earlier blowups.

Gutsy move tonight by Yost trotting out Gagne in the 9th in a 1-1  game at home instead of Torres.  But it worked out great as the Brew got the win and Torres got another much needed day of rest.

i was cursing the tv when i saw him come on in the9th, but by the end I was kind of "meh, hes ok", which I suppose is an improvement

If Eric Gagne can be "meh" for the rest of the year, that's a big piece of the puzzle right there.

They put him out there because even if it cost them the game they needed to find out before the trade deadline was up if they had to waste more prospects on a relief pitcher.

I guess I am encouraged by Gagne by looking at his pitches. He took care of the side fairly quickly and got strikes. Yes, Bay did get the hit, but Gagne had things under control. He is doing what Mota has not been doing.
