Doesn't this have more to do with our quantity at this point than strictly quality?  I'm not saying it won't end up being a top 20 class, but I think this is pretty misleading.  Not that I would ever accuse you of intentionally misleading us, Jim.

Hoop Scoop also has our guys ranked much higher than most (that's not to say they are wrong... who knows?).

Either way, it is definitely cool to see our program "up in lights" at this point.

Intentionally misleading? You really are a piece of work Abe.

These are not my rankings. I stated that they are from Hoop Scoop. I put a question mark in the title, suggesting that it might be a reach. I thought people here might want to see it. What is misleading about that?

Interesting article Jim, but way to early to get much of an accurate grade. The fact they pulled in Maymon (a top 50) and Eric Willams a (top 100) by most services is a nice start. The 2008 class is weak as we know though, and nothing yet for 2010. On the other hand UW looks like they could have to top 25 players in 2010.

I'm not sold at all on Buzz. I think he has a bit of a insider on some Texas Coaches, but as a Coach he is a big question mark and as a recruiter over all there is still the unknown.

Carmichael - First off, awesome signature.

It is early to get an accurate read, but it is nothing more than one service's ranking. even with the Three Amigos I don't know that Crean ever cracked the top 10, at any point in the recruiting season.

Yes, Maymon is a Top 50. Erik Williams missed almost all of last year and is now climbing the charts. The same service now has him at #11 in the country. I said almost a year ago that when all was said and done that he would be one of MU's biggest gets in a long - long time. Don't forget Cadougan - He is climbing the charts as well. Ranked by one service as the best player at the NBA Top 100 camp. Starting to crack most all of the top 100 lists. And then you have a Juco in Buycks - some say one of teh best 2Gs in his class in all of Juco ball.

Nothing yet for 2010 is normal. Typically teams are all looking at the '09 class right now. Many kids take visits the first semester of their senior year, but MU is already done. What Bo has done at Wisconsin by already having filled the class of 2010 is unheard of.

When it comes to coaching, yes - Buzz is a huge question mark. No matter what he or his assistants have done, no one will know that answer until they tip it off in November, but there is no question that the guy can recruit.

RSCI had Crean's 2005 class ranked 9th in the country.
