    ESPNews reports Green Bay Packers president Mark Murphy said the team will not retire former QB Brett Favre's number at their home opener.

    Well, since at this moment there's no guarantee that Favre will be retired at that point in time - heck, there's a chance he may even be in a GB uniform (highly doubtful, but still - a chance), I think this is pretty common sense.

     

    Murphy also said that his number WILL be retired at some point. Just not then.

    Is this even news worthy? It was a foregone conclusion that #4's number wasn't going to be retired the second he told the team that he wanted to play again. It'll be a few years atleast before his number is "officially" retired.
