I have to agree. Most underachieving program at the UW right now. I'm tired of the "so many guys left for the NHL" excuse. It happens to everyone and we consistently see the BC's, Michigans, UND's at the top even though they lose players every year. Time to re-evaluate this program.
Agreed.
Don't mean to minimze the national title (I was drunk when I wrote that last post), but Eaves has never led the Badgers to a WCHA regular-season or WCHA Tournament title. Now, I'd obviously rather have the national title than those, but the point is, why are Eaves' teams consistently falling into the middle of the conference?
All the talk is always about how talented his recruiting classes are but how they need time to develop over the course of the season, then they never develop. I don't know, it's frustrating.
And, yeah, the guys leaving for the NHL excuse is total bull. Minnesota lost its best player (Okposo) DURING the season last year. It's happening to all the top programs. You just have to change your mindset, become more reliable on freshmen right away and not constantly call everything "a learning process."
Also, it would help if their "great" defensive corps would, you know, PLAY SOME DEFENSE!
