There's a lot written around here about TT's drafts. But, longing for the good old days, I went to NFL.COM's full draft history of the Packers, to remember the 1980's.
1981, Rich Campbell, Gary Lewis (TE), and Ray Stachowicz as the top 3 choices.
1982 Ron Halstom, Del Rodgers, and Robert Brown
1983 Tim Lewis, Dave Dreschler and Mike Miller as the top 3
I'd keep going, but the pain of all those wasted draft picks is just too much, I have to get some bourbon now.

Who was the idiot that was longing for the 80's?
Quint: Anti-shark cage. You go inside the cage? [Hooper nods] Quint: Cage goes in the water, you go in the water. Shark's in the water. Our shark. [sings] Farewell and adieu to you, fair Spanish ladies. Farewell and adieu, you ladies of Spain. For we've received orders for to sail back to Boston. And so nevermore shall we see you again.

Tim Lewis was a TERRIFIC CB until his career was ended due to the discovery of his spinal stenosis.
Now you can say that Ive grown bitter, But of this you can be sure The rich have got their channels in the bedrooms of the poor And theres a night of judgement coming... But I may be wrong; Ya see I hear these funny voices in the Tower of Song

Dude was a stud at blocking FG's also. Is he still coaching in the NFL?
And my 10-month old has this to say about the game:

We're also forgetting Bruce Clark (1st --1980) and Alphonso Carraker (1st - 1984) in that list, too.
As my Grand-daddy once said, "Don't get into a spray fight with a skunk." Except he didn't exactly use the word "spray."

That was the wrong Lewis who had the FG blocking skills--it was TE Gary Lewis. Tim Lewis was a promising DB until his spinal condition was exposed in a hit he took against the Bears, at Lambeau, in '86.

My bad. Still liked them both. :)

I didn't have enough bourbon to think about those guys.

Here's my advice: When you think of Packers draft picks from the '80s you need to start drinking heavily. And take an extra belt if the words "he's a fine, young man" come up in the discussion.

Pugger,
Do you mean Tim Lewis? (I don't think Harris had enough on the ball to coach). Lewis is an assistant for the Carolina Panthers.

Whoops! My bad! Yes, I meant Tim Lewis. :-]
Steve Atkins was a bust as a RB, but he was a fine, young man.
Drink up!
