Not an overly impressive win for either side of the ball, but for a team in dire need of a "W", it's big! Here we go for the Week 6 edition.
Studs
Jennings - big catch downfield and was open on more occasions. Had Rogers had better vision today Jennings would've crushed fantasy football leagues.
Driver - made some tough catches and took some big hits. Comes to play week in and week out, and hasn't had a drop that I can remember.
Crosby - kicked off deep and nailed a 50 yarder. Been the most consistent performer on the team this year.
Kampman - 2 sacks and should've had a 3rd. Good to see him back in the mix.
Woodson - coverage was tight all game, and took a perfect gamble and made a great pick, reading the QB's eyes all the way. What a difference it makes when you watch the QB's eyes.
Duds
MM - play calling was atrocious the whole game. Last year he had no problems abandoning the run when it wasn't working, but this year seems determined to put us in 3rd and longs b/c of his need to run the ball. Right now Grant is not hitting holes or seeing the field well, so we need to pass to set up the run like early last year. He needs to do better to get the ball into our playmakers hands(WR's).
Picket - didn't see him make any plays all day, and saw him driven off the ball a number of times. Our tackles have been unimpressive all year, but I expect much more from him. He was dominated in the trenches all day.
Grant - not seeing the field well. Not making people miss, and seems to be running at tacklers. Averaged less then 3 yards a carry and he had some opportunities to break a couple of runs. I dont know what his problem is, but he's not in sync right now at all. When Brandon is back & healthy, they should share the carries on early downs.
I'm in a good mood tonight, so I'm not going to nitpick, although I'm still unimpressed with our defenses performance and the number of missed tackles and blown assignments. On offense, A-Rod needs to be sharper and get rid of the ball quicker in general. We need to play much better next week if we're going to beat the Colts. We'll see what happens.
