If you simply look at catches, Lee is on pace for 45 this year, only three behind 2007. He already has 3 TD's, while catching 6 last year. He is behind on yards, though.

dsilby: Kn1ne: ace_maverick: Donald Lee is still serviceable and when Aaron Rodgers and him develop some chemistry he will return to being an above average TE.
RETURN to being a above average TE? He was above average? When was this? Ace stick to TT, Favre,MM posts thats clearly your wheelhouse, posts about football are not really your thing
I normally would be on your side Kn1ne and not Ace's 90% of the time. But I agree with Ace here. Lee I thought was definitely above average last year. And once he and Aaron do learn each other, I think Lee will be pretty good.
lol, I'll respect the opinion, I just never saw him as ABOVE average, I felt average at best, he took a while to beat out Bubba who was average to me as well, When I think of TE's I think: Greats: Tony G, Gates, Whitten Above average:Todd Heap (when healthy) Shockey (when healthy) Chris Cooley, Vernon Davis, Dallas Clark (when Indy O is clicking) K. Winslow (when healthy) Average : Lee, G.Olsen, Bubba I could cheat and check NFL stats but those are the guys I think of right off the top, So would you put Leee in the same class as Heap, Shockey and Cooley?

Kn1ne:Above average:Todd Heap (when healthy) Shockey (when healthy) Chris Cooley, Vernon Davis, Dallas Clark (when Indy O is clicking) K. Winslow (when healthy) Shockey? Vernon Davis? Those two want to make me puke. Vernon Davis has like 5 catches this whole season, and Shockey is a head case. And yes I would put them ahead of Shockey and Heap. Maybe a little short of Cooley, but its hard to put up big numbers when you block a lot, and the QB isn't seeing you.
I'm ready for a different chance, I've seen his show for a decade, and it's gotten old, and every episode ends the same, with the gun slinger shooting the wrong guy. -aegisfc August 2008

I will not be Packer Fan again til Ted Thompson and Mark Murphy are fired. Which wont be long after that cuz out team will fall apart and all out good players will want out of Dodge.I'd rather have Mike Sherman, Ray Rhodes, Lindy Infante or any other old Packer's Brass before rooting for team run by arrogant ungrateful ingrates. At least they were trying to to what was best for the team. Not what is best for the egos." Ace_Maverick July 2008

swany11: If you simply look at catches, Lee is on pace for 45 this year, only three behind 2007. He already has 3 TD's, while catching 6 last year. He is behind on yards, though. Lee has 1 td this year and is on pace for 51 catches. He has caught 17 of 20 passes thrown his way. That means hes not dropping balls either. Lee's problem is not catching balls though. His problem is he sucks at blocking and breaking tackles(as evidenced by his 6.7 yd/catch average). Gonzalez is a complete TE that he does everything well and the Pack would be lucky to have him. They could run TE sets with Gonzo and teams wouldn't know whether to defend pass or run and 2 TE with Gonzo/Lee and not know who to defend because Gonzo is a complete player(not a pass catcher only like Lee or blocker only like Humphrey).
That ain't Corey's game. Corey hacks on 2-0.

Hey, who wants to bet that they don't even trade him. It's all steam.

You're probably right they won't trade him. They want a 2nd or 3rd round pick no one is gonna give them that!

Re: NY Post says PAck interested in Tony Gon. 3rd rounder worthy?
JSOnline says the Packers offered a #3, but the Chiefs were asking for a #2 and didn't budge. The story also ways that Gonzalez was ticked the Chiefs wouldn't take the third rounder. He said he would play another three years. I think a #3 would be worth it, and even though they need more help on defense right now, I would have liked to see him in a Packers' uniform for 3 1/2 years and a #2 pick...which could end up being what we get for Favre.

This is what drives me crazy about Thompson. He obviously thinks Gonzalez will help our team but sets a value and doesn't deviate. Never deviates. NEVER makes the bold move. That is the great difference between this guy and Ron Wolf. Wolf trades the 2 for Keith Jackson, TT does not.
