    Future Badgers still playing

I'm not much a recruit watcher, but I do like this time of year and I thought I would recap Badger commits on their tournament play thus far:

    Diamond Taylor (Bolingbrook, IL) SR

Bolingbrook (20-6) has advanced to the Illinois 4A Sectional Semifinals (final 32) against Naperville Central (26-2) on Wednesday. Taylor scored 15 points to lead the way over Glenbard East (20-7) 61-57. Naperville Central is ranked 18th by the Sun Times this week and Bolingbrook is 21st. Previously, Bolingbrook defeated Glenbard West (12-16) 48-38. Taylor scored 10. Bolingbrook has won 7 straight.

Mike Bruesewitz (Henry Sibley, Mendota Heights, MN) SR

Sibley (24-2) will play White Bear Lake (9-17) on Friday for the right to advance to the Section 4AAAA semifinals (final 32). Sibley is the top seed for the section and are currently on a 16 game winning streak. Bruesewitz scored 14 and 18 points in their two most recent games. Sibley is ranked 2nd in Minnesota 4A

Evan Anderson (Eau Claire North) JR

EC North (15-7) with a 5 seed bucked Chippewa Falls (seeded 4th) 54-42 last Tuesday and the 1-seed Hudson 50-42 in overtime on Saturday. North will face the 2 seed Superior (19-3) in the Sectional semifinals on Friday night (final 32). North survived the game against Hudson by way of a ¾ court shot at the end of regulation to tie after Hudson missed the front end of a 1-1 free throw to seal it with 2.6 seconds to go. Anderson scored 6 with 10 rebounds. He scored just 4 against Chippewa Falls.

    Vander Blue (Madison Memorial) JR

Memorial (21-1) defeated Sauk Prairie (13-9) 47-38 on Saturday to advance to the sectional semifinals (final 32) against 4th seeded Baraboo (17-5) this Friday. Blue scored 6. In the opener, Memorial easily handled 16th seeded Monona Grove (4-17) 71-55 with Blue leading the way with 24.

    Devon Hodges (Romeoville, IL) SO

Romeoville (12-15) was eliminated by Bloom (now 18-10 after winning the following game as well). The final was 51-45 with Hodges scoring 10 with 6 rebounds. Romeoville earlier had beaten Tinely Park Andrew (7-18), 57-45. Hodges had 8 points and 9 rebounds against Andrew. Romeoville was also competing in the Illinois 4A division.

Four out of five still playing...not too bad.

He's been slipping pretty rapidly on most recruiting lists.  I wouldn't be shocked to see him closer to 75 by the time he graduates.

Vander Blue, on the other hand, has been rising.

I hope the Anderson squad sneaks in through their sectional.  I'd like to get a first-hand look in Madison.

Tonight, Diamond Taylor's Bolingbrook team was beat by Naperville Central 68-61 ending their season at 20-7.  Taylor scored a game-high 23 points, 13 of which were in the 4th quarter.  He shot a dismal 6 of 14 from the free throw line (noooooooo!!!!!!)

    Anyway, next stop, UW.

I see Bo is going after the same kind of players he always does.

I have know idea, but I'm willing to bet that Taylor is about 6'10", skinny and white with blond hair.

So, the guy claims so kind of half-baked allegiance to Badger athletics.  My guess is that he possibly has "friends" who are also.  Guys that maybe he went to high school or (doubting) college with.  No doubt, there might be a game or two he accompanied his buddies with or gathered around a TV to watch the big game...

If he was the sourpuss then (that he is now) at occasions like that, I would have to say his "friends" stopped asking him to the events.  The only way they still include him is if he hides it well...which must be quite painful for him.  At any rate, I think the "friends" would like to know...I know I would.  If only to say:  shut the hell up and/or leave.

So clever, and slightly racial.  If you are half the recruiting dork that you portray, you would know his hat size.

Anyone know about the caliber of competition Anderson is playing against or is he just another freakishly tall kid playing against 6-5 players?  Was his lofty recruiting status due to results on the AAU/summer circuit or strictly based on high school numbers?

Anytime I am looking for information and/or updateds on a recruit, I go to this site.  There are always a lot of good links to read up on as well as opinions, updates, and rumors as to what is going on.  Make sure to look at the dates on posts to take pespective.  Here's the link for Anderson....

It sounds like part of the problem is that opposing defenses just camp around him in the lane trying to deny him the ball and the guards on his team can't make them pay from the outside or get the ball to him enough.
