update from that liberal rag the cap times
Just a quick review of the top performances from some of the members of the University of Wisconsin football team's 2010 recruiting class this weekend:
** Madison East wide receiver/tight end Marquis Mason had a huge night, catching 10 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns -- including a 98-yarder -- in the Purgolders' 37-31 loss to Madison East.
** Brookfield Central running back Jeff Lewis rushed for 118 yards on just seven carries in the Lancers' 35-0 victory over Racine Case. Most of those yards came on an 88-yard touchdown run. Defensive tackle Bryce Gilbert, another UW recruit, also plays for Brookfield Central.
** Cameron Ontko (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) scored two touchdowns -- one on the ground, one through the air -- in Walsh Jesuit's 21-0 victory over Newark Licking Valley in a game that was called at halftime because of lightning.
** Also of note, defensive end Warren Herring (Belleville, Ohio) played sparingly in the Lancers' 33-10 victory over Mount Vernon after spraining his ankle earlier in the week.
Some players, like quarterback Joe Brennan (Cherry Hill, N.J.) have yet to start the season.
