Hey Juicebox, you mind pointing me in the direction of a well followed Cubs message board?  I wanna go talk some baseball

That is my entire point, if you read my other posts.   There ARE no good Cubs message boards.  If you want an example, look at the glog on CBSSports.com during a game.  You will find the most ridiculous assertions and opinions by Cub fans.  That is why I enjoy your board.  You guys, for the most part, know what you are talking about and do so in a really entertaining way.  Hey, I understand you hate the Cubs and want them to lose every game.  But you can't have a rational discussion about it?  That I don't understand.

Don't you guys have friends who root for teams that are your rivals or that you just plain don't like?  Maybe it is easier for someone from Chicago to understand because we have friends who root for the White Sox while we root for the Cubs.  During other seasons, though, we root together for the Bears, Blackhawks and Bulls so maybe since you don't have that in Milwaukee, you don't get how you can discuss baseball with a rival without resorting to name calling.

Jesus wept, you come here and provoke people and then take shots at us for not being able to discuss things in a civilized manner?

How comically fitting is this sh*t?

I'm actually totally on your side, in general.

I would be on your side completely if you would have actually responded to Igniter's points about old Cubs hovering near their career averages vs. old and young Brewers nowhere near theirs and how that somehow means that the Cubs are due to come around and the Brewers have no upside.

It seems to me that what you're looking for is a baseball board. Not a specific team board. It's too bad you can't find a good Cubs board. But if you go to another team's board, your experience will not be a good one. If we as Brewer fans want to be critical of a flaw in our team, and present it in a reasonable matter, it's one thing. (although it still causes some pissin matches) On the other hand, if a Cubs (the team most of us hate the most) fan points that flaw out, it will piss most of us off. That's because this is our forum. It won't be fair in here. It's not supposed to be.

You talked about discussing baseball with buddies. My brother-in-law is a Cubs fan and we get along fine. But our conversations take place on neutral ground. This is not neutral ground, nor is it meant to be.

I cannot understand how someone would fail to get this.

    Unreal.

From your description it sounds like you would be right at home on the CBSSports board unless, of course, your only objective is to be an obnoxious jerk toward fans of another team.

If you are looking for "the most ridiculous assertions and opinions by Cub fans" you don't have to look any further than your comments on another thread about Mark DiFelice. As if Piniella wouldn't be thrilled to have him in his bullpen as his 5th best reliever. Oh, I forgot, Gregg, Marmol, and Heilmann are perfect every time out.

It only stands to reason that there are no good Cubs message boards. If they bounce fans of other teams there are no rational humans left to participate in the discussion.
