As I look at the roster. Manny Parra has been a big disappointment, but in the back of my mind I anticipated him struggling to be a real possibility. I didn't expect much from Hall.
I think there are few players not doing about what I expected or a little more (with of course a giant exemption to Rickie Weeks because of his injury).
The two glaring exceptions to that rule however are Hardy and Hart who have been missing in action for most of the 2009 season at the plate.
The grief that several players have taken this season and in the past for being not nearly as unproductive offensively as either makes me wonder why they have essentially skated with little criticism from the local media, and no outward anger from the Brewer fandom.
Right now as Steve True would say; "Neither is holding up their end of the donkey...."
It would be nice to add another pitcher but if Hart (0.320/0.419/0.739) and Hardy (0.298/0.354/0.652) continue to trending towards the offensive efficiency level of Jeff Franceour and Mario Mendoza it is going to be difficult for the Brewers to stay ahead of the Cards and Cubs.
However maybe I am expecting too much from them. Hardy's career OPS is 0.757 and Hart's career OPS is 0.796
