As of now, he is not ranked, but it is early. Other schools on his list were:Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Georgia Tech and Indiana.
The fact that Georgia Tech offered him stands out to me, he had 900 rush yards and 13 tds last year so maybe they were looking at him at fullback for their option attack.

If he would have signed with OSU, he would be at least a 4 star. don't buy into the garbage ranking system
The good news in all of this is the progress that Joe Rudolph is making recruiting in OSU's backyard. His pulled in a few players and seems to be making some serious inroads in the buckeye state.

Another one on the books for 2010. Beat out some nice schools for Brennan. What I like about the class the badgers are putting together is that it appears they are going back to some areas they had success with during Barry's years. New Jersey, St Louis and Ohio were fertile recruiting grounds during BA's tenure
According to Brennan’s coach, Rick Brown, Brennan knows that competition comes with the territory.
“The goal with Joe was to get to a BCS conference on a team that has a chance to get to a major BCS bowl and play for a national championship,” Brown said. “If you’re going to go to those types of teams, they’re going to have quarterbacks on the roster.
“The reason they are that good is because they have good football players, so Joe doesn’t have a fear of competing. I think that is one of the greatest things about Joe.”
Brennan chose Wisconsin over Miami, Rutgers and Pittsburgh.

Re: Badgers get another commit...
Awesome quote from a mom hyping our new QB. However, she may have not watched alot of last years game film
It didn't take long during our discussion to figure out that Victoria Brennan knows her football. She's also very confident in her son's abilities.
"I think Wisconsin should be just excited as we are, because he's a special kid, he's a special player," she said. "I just think the timing is great, because (the Badgers) need a really good quarterback and (they) are getting one."
She also said UW's offensive line "is awesome. If they give Joey four seconds to sit back in that pocket, oh my gosh, there's no stopping him."

"Not so fast my friend."

Obviously gumbo boy doesn't know sarcasm when he reads it. No surprise there.

Re: Badgers get another commit...
Seems like Brennan is a good pickup for the Badgers. Already a 3star, a good senior year, and a committment to one of the big boys would have ensured him a 4star or even 5star rating.
What I like about him w/o even seeing him play.
1. 10 schools offered him, not just interested, but offered.
2. 3 of the schools are Duke, Vandy and Stanford, meaning he is likely to be highly intelligent.
3. 8 of the schools are BCS schools including Iowa and Miami.
Stacking your recruiting classes with legit BCS level players in the 3-4star range is very important for teams in the middle like Wisconsin to nip at the big boys heels. The recruiting rankings are flawed, but there is some truth to them. USC, Florida and LSU have been amongst the top for several years, and those teams are putting guys into the NFL. The true test of how good a guy is, does he get drafted.

Re: Badgers get another commit...
Another Ohio player in the fold. Again, nice to see Joe Rudolph making some serious inroads recruiting this state. On the downside, it looks as if Brewster has closed the border and that Minneapolis pipeline has ended. It's unfortunate, but focusing back on areas of success during BA's years St Louis, New Jersey and Ohio should reap some rewards
Byers, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound linebacker from Ohio, gave an oral commitment to the Badgers on Monday night. He’s the 12th known commitment in UW’s 2010 recruiting class.
Nobody was happier with the news than Borland, a true freshman linebacker at UW. Borland and Byers were teammates last season at Archbishop Alter High School in Kettering, which is near Dayton in western Ohio.
“He showed me around when I was up there for an unofficial visit,” Byers said. “He’s talked a lot about how much he likes it there. He was real excited about me committing there.”
Byers also had scholarship offers from Louisville, West Virginia and a host of schools from the Mid-American Conference.
He continues a strong push for the Badgers in Ohio under assistant coach Joe Rudolph, who helped UW land Borland and three other players from the state in the 2009 recruiting class. Byers joins Cameron Ontko, a linebacker from Cuyahoga Falls, as commits from Ohio in the 2010 recruiting class.

For now, I agree. Once the new stadium joy in the cities fades, Brew continues to win no more than 7 games a year and Bucky keeps a stranglehold on the Axe the pipeline will reopen.
Anyone else abnormally excited for the Minnesota game in Sept? I kinda am.

+1 Most of UW's best players in the Alvarez era have come from StL, NJ and OH.
