Re: Another buy low candidate
I like Garland, although he'll probably try to capitalize on his low ERA last year

No way he fetches more than 10 million....but that's still too high. How about 7 million for John Garland...
Slim pickings..

Re: Another buy low candidate
At least I hope no team pays him 10 million so the crew can swoop in last minute and secure him for 1/2 that.

Re: Another buy low candidate
The guy is a d-bag (beat his wife in public) but he is another option.... Myers done in Philly?
4:13PM ET
Jim Salisbury reports today that the Philadelphia Phillies have informed right-hander and former ace Brett Myers that he will not be offered a new contract, setting him free and aiding in the flooding of the free agent crop.
Myers told Salisbury that he'd be willing to start or pitch out of
the bullpen for his new team, which certainly helps create a better
market for his services.
Philadelphia, who could seek relief help this winter, has opened a
spot in the pen to add an arm with today's news, and it doesn't
necessarily mean the end of Brad Lidge by any stretch.

Set him up with the whole schmear. Clubs, bag, balls, shoes...

The free agent pitching market is starting to get a lot more interesting.

Beating wife at home = first class a-hole Beating wife in public = first class a-hole + complete moron + no doubt about it happening Though the more I think about it, it's really not particularly "smart" to beat one's wife anywhere, but I think you get my point.

Mulder
Prior
Cabrera
Odalis Perez
Stay away from the LAckeys and Hardens
Should all be singed for about 4-5M total and take a chance that you can get a starter and a reliever from the 3.
SPend some money on a starting Catcher; make a run at Torrealba and Victor Martinez (likely to be way out of our price range)

Didn't the Red Sox already pick up V-Mart's option? If they haven't yet, they are certain too, right?
