...he sure did lay an egg on Sunday. Again against Peterson.

    From JSonline.com:

Bishop has to become less of a boom-or-bust player for the coaches to trust him. Though he's known to make big hits and force turnovers, he also takes too many chances, and that gets him in trouble.

Against the Vikings, he made a critical error on the screen pass that running back Adrian Peterson turned into a 44-yard gain late in the game. Bishop was supposed to play contain on the screen, but he bit too hard in the middle and allowed guard Steve Hutchinson to take him out of the play.

"He made one critical error at a critical point in the game that's unacceptable," linebackers coach WinstonMoss said. "That being said, it goes back into evaluating whether he's the best guy for that position going into next week. We'll evaluate that. We'll come up with the best scenario to see who should play the position."

Unfortunately, Swany I agree with you that Bishop looks out of his element playing in a regular season game ... another TT draft pick miss I guess. Now, as a longtime Hawk backer, what do you think it says about AJ when the coaches play a 6th round pick who blows coverages and does not know he is the 12th man on the field ahead of AJ Hawk -- the 5th pick overall in the 2006 draft?

Bishop blew it by going underneath Hutchinson on Peterson's 44-yard screen, hesitated on a blitz and cost McCarthy a timeout by being the 12th man on the field. He is a striker, but his game needs sharpening.

    1. I have a hard time considering a 6th rounder a "miss".

    2. Can you ever have a conversation about any of the Packers...specifically LB's...without bringing up Hawk?

Swany, you have no problem drilling Packer linebacker Desmond Bishop on this board for his play yesterday, which I concur was poor. However, you have been one of Hawk's chief apologists and AJ is supposedly a starter and the 5th highest paid Packer. Why does Bishop merit criticism from you while Hawk does not?
Seriously...can you have an honest conversation about a LB without bringing up Hawk every single time?

Bishop plays a couple of plays (admittedly poorly) for one of the few times this and you start a thread ripping him yet you cannot post a single negative word about Hawk. I know you predicted on this board that AJ would have a BREAK OUT season but are you so wedded to AJ that you can't see him for what he is ... seriously?
I will take that as a "no", you cannot go one post talking about LB's without bringing up Hawk. Not surprising.

Yes, I probably did predict Hawk was going to have a break out season. Not sorry I did. But have you seen me backing up his play this year? Or making "excuses" for his play lately?  What were those "excuses"? How exactly have I "not seen him for what he is"?

Swany, I've always been amazed by the Hawk Brigade's (mistaken) devotion to your boy AJ. Under the unyielding leadership of Lameboo, and despite irrefutable evidence of Hawk's mediocre (at best) play, the Brigade's mantra of never, ever, ever criticizing the beloved AJ no matter what he does (or more often does not do) has remained consistent. Oh well, as a Packer fan, I am under no such constraints.

    1. I find it utterly hilarious that you still can't go one post without commenting on Hawk. You can't even criticize another LB without the "Hawk Sucks" qualifier. Every time.

    2.  Why the obsession about Hawk? Are you really that worried about what people think?

Another post by a member of the Hawk brigade mentioning Hawk's name and another post in which you do not criticize AJ's performance. Well done Lameboo ... oops I should say Swany ... right???

Keg Man's choice A:  Assignment sure Hawk (which Keg Man believes he sights, targets and runs into the first offensive lineman available thus completing his assignment).  And, who Keg Man has watched for several years without memories of many special moments.

Keg Man's choice B:  Not assignment sure Bishop.  Who makes mistakes.  But, has also made big plays.  And, appears to have an upside.

Keg Man chooses Bishop and will live with the mistakes rather than suffer the non-mistakes that don't stop anybody anyways.

You mean the bet where I promised I'd "give $25 to your favorite charity for every game in which Hawk has an interception, fumble recovery, fumble caused, sack, or any other tackle behind the line of scrimmage this season? However, if AJ does not have a total of 5 of any combination of these categories by the end of the season (and barring a season ending injury before game 15) you send them a check for $100?' BTW that was in the Vernon Davis v. Hawk thread. Have you noticed Vernon is leading NFL TEs with 7 TD catches? Man, the Hawk pick just keeps hurting more and more every week. Take care Lamey.

Somewhere - clinical psychologists are missing out on a great case study.

So now Hawk's to blame for our loss Sunday?

I thought they played the nickel practically all game - how can you $uck if you don't hit the field?

Even when AJ's not a topic of discussion - or even a factor - ET rambles on. I guess some trick-or-treaters in #50 jerseys TP'd ET's hovel.

Well, it was blissful for a week anyway.

Let's give Hawk a little credit. He does have either four or five tackles for a loss, and two forced fumbles. Sounds like he is at least making some plays.
