It's all going to come down to conference records

I know it's only Week 8-9 and lot can happen.  I am not going to run down each game and say who wins, because there all always some curveballs you don't see.  You win games you probably shouldn't win and lose some you shouldn't it. But I think the Playoffs will come down to conference records and believe or not I think that is going to work in the Packers favor.

First, I think that Dallas(11-5) will win the East, The Vikings(12-4) in the North, the Saints(14-2) in the South, and either Arizona or San Francisco with a record of 9-7, the other one will be out altogether.

I predict the Falcons to go to an 11-5 record with the most favorable schedule left.  5 home games including Was, TB, and Buff.  and chance to play tougher teams Philly and New Orleans at home.  3 out of 4 road games against sub 500 teams (Carolina, Jets, Buccaneers)

Then the fun begins, I think you will see Green Bay, New York Giants, and Philadelphia all at 10-6.  With neither of these teams on anyone's schedule this year, I think it be the utmost importance to win our conference games.  We do play Dallas and that's a team that could be in the logjam as well, but we have the opportunity to play them, and a win there will go a long way.

Take the Giants, who noboby really knows what's going on with them lately after dropping their last 3 against good teams, but still a terrible stretch for them.  They have tough home games left with San Diego, Atlanta, Dallas, and Philadelphia coming in as well as Carolina who is still an enigma at this point.  But the road is games vs Denver and Minnesota, and maybe a gift win in Washington.  They have already lost 3 conference games and still have to contend with Atl, Dal, Phi, Car, Minn.  I see them easily losing 2 or 3 more.

Then there's the Eagles who are playing much better since getting embarrassed by the Raiders.  Only 4 home games left and not easy ones.  They get Dallas this week, and last two of three they get the 49'ers and Broncos.  But, they still have to go on the road to San Diego, Chicago, Atlanta, the Giants, and finish their season in Dallas.  I see six tough NFC games left and they are 4-1 in conference games now.

Although the Bears could go on a run with wins in places you wouldn't expect this team looks like a 9-7 team

Here is where the Packers are still very much alive.  Sitting at two losses in the NFC, they have what I think to be the favorable position of  playing Dallas, San Franciso, and Seattle at home while only  have to go to Tampa, Detroit, Chicago, and Arizona.  5-2 or 4-3 is certainly not going to be difficult here as I think 5-2 or even 6-1 is more likely.  Have to take advantage of these games in the conference as I believe they will get their 2-3  losses from either  Pittsburgh, Baltimore, or in Chicago/Arizona.  10-6 with a good conference record can lock up the last wildcard spot.  10-6 with 5 or more losses won't be good enough.

Obviously, the Giants and Eagles are each other's schedule, what I meant was that the Packers don't play either of the them, so they can use that as a tiebreaker,  If they are tied like I predict the first criteria they use is conference record with 3 teams tied.

Good analysis. I think that we will have to beat Dallas in order to make the playoffs, that game is going to be HUGE. I think were gonna have to go 7-2, maybe 6-3 the rest of the way to have a shot.

Season is far from over. I'd almost welcome a shot to play the queens in the playoffs: we basically would have nothing to lose and would have a chance to embarass them at home. Sound familiar?

If you keep making logical, intelligent posts, the trolls and the idiots are gonna go nuts. You didn't mention Favre, McCarthy sucking, or a hindsight evaluation of TTs draft classes. I agree with everything you said, except I think the Eagles win the East. Then it comes down to the Giants and Cowboys. Dallas game will be huge.

The Packers will be okay. They have only lost to very good teams. They've beaten up on some very bad teams. And they beat the Bears. 10-6 was my prediction at the beginning of the season, and I'm sticking with it. Just have to hope to make the playoffs.

Tanks X-mas wish list: Joey Harrington, Michael Huff, AJ Trapasso, Chad Henne, and Matt Jones.

+1.   You'll never have a future on these boards if you keep making sense.   The Packers play some good teams and if they win enough of the next games they can still do something with this season. It's too early to write things off and start planning the firings yet.

Excellent thread starter AZP, it not only seems like everybody in the NFL is 4-3, 5-3, or 5-2. As a matter of fact there are 13 teams in the league,  7 in the NFC that meet the criteria. It's going to be a dogfight.

Unfortunately there must have been a crystal ball give away at the last "we hate TT" conference. 4-3 with a ton of games to go, no reason to mail it in. Are there concerns? Hell yes, but this is why they play the games. I'm a little disappointed, I feel like some of the fan base has completely mailed it in, we aren't queens fans, wait and see how it plays out.

    Here's the remaining schedule.

They'll beat the Bucs, so now they're 5-3. Out of the Cowboys and 49ers, they must split. Now they're 6-4. Beat the Lions, now 7-4. This is where the season is make or break. THEY MUST beat 2 good teams. Between the Ravens and Bears, they split. Now they're 8-5. Now between the Steelers and Cards, they split again. That's 9-6 and they beat the terrible Seattle team in Green Bay. There's your 10-6.

The way I just explained it actually sounds reasonable. If it will happen, time will only tell.

The difference this year than that year was 2 even teams. you guys won the 2 regular season meetings on the last play of the game(kicks).

If you remember right you guys had the ball last, seems like whoever was going to have the ball last was going to win. 3pts both game-last play

In the playoffs in GB you guys were heavily favored, I didnt know why we were such a long shot to win, we were so neck to neck each game.

Now this year I see the differences clearly. You guys could want us in the playoffs but not a good idea.

Nice detail azpfan layed out to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Alot of teams there too, I'd wish you Good luck  but sorry I wouldn't really

    mean it.

Sun., Nov. 22 San Francisco 49ers WIN
Thurs., Nov. 26 @ Detroit Lions BIG WIN

Sun., Dec. 13 @ Chicago Bears LOSS
Sun., Dec. 20 @ Pittsburgh Steelers LOSS
Sun., Dec. 27 Seattle Seahawks WIN
Sun., Jan. 3 @ Arizona Cardinals LOSS

    1. Buccaneers suck

    2. The Cowboys have a better Offense and their D-line will get to Rodgers. Cowboys win in a shootout.

    3.  49ers are all used up now, unless they get healthy again.

    4.  Lions suck

    5. No way the Packers O wins vs. the Ravens D

    6. You have to concede a split with the Bears, especially if you swwep the Lions and are swept by the Vikings.

    7. World champs on the road, good luck.

    8. Seahawks suck

    9. The Cards might be vying for a playoff spot in week 16.  On the road + Playoff atmosphere + Veteran QB = Packers loss.

At least 8-8 is an improvement.

The Ravens D isn't a strength like it used to be. I'd be more worried about stopping Ray Rice and the Ravens offense then their defense.

He won the First playoff game your 13-3 season Damn close the second    your putting too much on his cold wheather / late in the season downfalls on that last pick. He's very capable of leading this team to any win any time anywhere.

Um, yes I would totally welcome playing the queens in the playoffs (assuming we get there). You are enjoying the ride with Favre right now, and you should. However he's like Jeckyl and Hyde in the playoffs, we know. . . He can play well for almost the entire game and then piss it all away with one boneheaded decision .

And he isn't the cold weather stud that he was for 95% of his career. The Bears game at the end of the 13-3 season and the Giants playoff game are prime examples.
