Markpackman:Up by 10. Under 4:00 to go in the half. Ball on IU 47...and you come out with 3 straight pass plays? If you ask me, that last IU TD was set up by the questionable play calling on UW's last possession.
If you ask me it was set up by a couple of terrible drops that probably took away an easy touchdown drive.
Nothing at all wrong with the play calling there, IMO, just the execution.
Point well taken. Perhaps I was too harsh on the play calling. Still, the running game is going well. Why get away from it, especially at the point of the game? Run the ball, drain the clock and, hopefully, head to the locker room with another TD.
There is something to be said for developing the pass game in in-game situations, right?
I mean, they can run the ball with little challenge here, but they've also been able to throw on this team and you have a QB in need of some confidence/experience.
I guess I don't see a problem with it because I don't think this game is going to be particularly close in the end. Take away 3 or 4 key mistakes in this game and the Badgers are up what, 28 or 35 to nothing?
You wanna develop? Work on the bolded part.
Sure, but that isn't what we're talking about. We're talking about the decision to call running plays or passing plays. They're different discussions, right?

And there are more opportune/appropriate times to decide you want to develop the passing game. That wasn't one of them, IMO.

Need a more consistent pass rush. Chappel is getting too much time back there.

Easy with the "you know" stuff bud. It's not my first time watching FB. Go back and look at that drive and count the seconds he was able to look down field. He was not under duress like he should have been.

Great play by Borland, but this game was very close to being 24-21...early in the 3rd quarter. It's far from over. IU has shown it can score points.

A chance for a nice long TD scoring drive to crush their spirit. Just what the Dr. ordered!

Disagree, the only team that will beat Wisconsin today is Wisconsin.
