I did not make it over there, we were camping on the Flambeau flowage the week of the 4th.. with all the family. more partying than fishing.

been fishing it this week is tough , Mayfly hatch is in full ... but managed to get enough to keep the frying pan stinked up.

next time you are up there , stop in willow wood ,and tell them that jackpine will pay.

Have actually fished both of those, but a few years back. Had more success on Willow than Flambeau.

the willow is always a good post spawn fishery, all the way into end of may. where the flambeau seems to be better in the fall of the year when the eye's get more aggressive for larger bait's. but the willow at 6000 acres as opposed to the flambeau's 17,000 is a heck of lot easier to find active fish.,

What is your favorite lake to fish Lou?

I live close to the willow flowage (or reservoir) and fish that , when the water comes up, it has quite a rundown, in the winter. sometimes 8 to 10 ft.

but my favorite would be the flambeau flowage, and the flambeau river system.

75 tomorrow with a southwest wind.

time to catch my breakfast. wind from the south blow it in thier month

wind from the east they bite the least

wind from the west they bite the best

wind from the north dont even go forth.

follow that old adage and you will catch fish JPL.
