It appears his final two are UWGB and LaSalle.

RISE selects Saint Charles West High School standout as Gatorade Missouri Boys’ Basketball Player of the Year

In its third decade of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, Gatorade joined with RISE Magazine to name senior forward KRAMER SODERBERG of SAINT CHARLES WEST HIGH in St. Charles as its 2007-08 Missouri Boys’ Basketball Player of the Year.

The 5-foot-11, 165-pound senior point guard averaged 24.4 points, 4.6 steals and 3.1 rebounds per game this season, leading the Warriors (30-2) to the Class 4 state final despite suffering from a pulled groin and bruised pelvis throughout the postseason. A returning First Team All-Saint Louis Area selection as named by the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Soderberg shot 63.6 percent from the floor—including 46 percent from beyond the 3-point line—and 85.4 percent from the free-throw line this winter. Also a McDonald’s Riverwar All-Star Game selection, he recorded 37 points and made the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer in a 64-53 victory against Moberly in the sectional finals. Soderberg scored 19 points of his team’s 36 points in the state final, where they fell to Notre Dame.

Soderberg has maintained a 3.75 GPA in the classroom. An active member in his Church of Saint Cletus congregation, he also volunteers as part of numerous community service-project initiatives on behalf of the National Honor Society, in addition to mentoring athletes at Saint Charles West High and the Saint Cletus School as a youth basketball clinic instructor.

“I’ve never been around someone who can shoot like he can shoot it,” said 28-year Saint Charles West head coach Terry Hollander. “He’s incredibly skilled, and he’s an unbelievable shooter. He had the desire to carry his team, and that was obvious to anybody who saw him play. You walk away feeling like you’ve seen something special. His skills are something all basketball fans can really appreciate. I’ve coached high school basketball for 35 years, and he’s by far the best shooter I’ve ever witnessed. It’s Twilight Zone kind of stuff.”
