Idea One; Bet the Farm
Everyone believes that we dont have a chance at RFA Josh Smith. This is completely untrue. We have one hell of a shot at him. If we offer a second round draft pick, Mo Williams who would be amazing in their system and Charlie Villanueva. We can aquire Smith in a sign and trade giving him a 12 to 13 million a year contract. This plan depends souly on Smith. Smith doesn't get to decide where he goes in this kind of scenerio. If he were a UFA he would have a choice in the sign and trade. As an RFA it's either take the money or play for Atlanta for one year and become a UFA next year. No one has the kind of money anymore to give Smith the contract he deserves accept the Grizzles who are not interested in his services. Meaning sign and trade is his only way out of Atlanta. I've checked, no one in the league can or is willing to offer two starters under 26 for Smith. Nobody can make such a trade of this caliber of players without hurting their team. You can knock Mo Williams al you want for his selfish play and his lack of defense. He's an all-star caliber player with all-star stats. GM's can see that. Charlie VIllanueva certainly gets a pass from me because of the Yi Jianlian fiasco, I don't want to trade him at all. But for Smith, I would. He averaged 15.1 PPG, 7.7RBG from the all-star game till the end of the season as our starter. You can't argue how appealing a full year as a starter would be. Especially in an improved, wanted setting. Problem with that is we would take on more salary cap. At least 12 million for Smith, meaning it will be virtually impossible to resign Desmond Mason end of the season. This also limits the ways we can unload Dan Gadzuric's contract.

Idea Two; Trade for next Off Season
Despite detractors, I believe that Mo Williams is seen as a top tier player around the league. Since he doesn't fit our team. A lot of people want to say he's a bad player. Or that he's garbage. Well he's not. Michael Redd is one of the best players at his position and so is Mo Williams. His skills however do not fit the rest of the team so we need to move one of them. Sessions and even Bell can replace Williams. There is no replacing Michael Redd, in no trade scenerio can we get fair value for Redd. So Williams is the obvious choice. In this scenerio we trade him to Miami for Power Foward Udonis Haslem and Center Joel Anthony. Despite how much we covet the defense Udonis brings to the team. He is no where near the valuable piece Mo Williams will be for Miami. Allowing them to play Beasley at the PF and Marion at the SF. In the off season losing Marion will give them a lot of cap space to plug holes. Udonis isn't going to be a better pro than Charlie Villanueva, he's a better defender, but I think Villanueva can impove enough to be a 15ppg 10rpg PF. However if we want to work for the now and the later. We can then trade Charlie Villanueva and Dan Gadzuric for the on the market Al Harrington and his 9 Million dollar contract that expires at the end of the season. This move would allow Golden State to play Charlie V at PF, Biedrins at Center and Anthony Randolf at SF. Only problem with this plan would be the amount of skill and faith they have in Brandan Wright. If they believe he's their guy at PF, they wont make a move to stunt his growth by taking on Charlie V. However at this point Charlie V is a much better option than Wright.

Idea 3; The One I Want
Despite what you people think we can get a draft pick and players for some of the players we don't want. Enter my final idea. And the one I truely want. We trade Mo Williams and Dan Gadzuric to Cleveland for PG Eric Snow and PF Joe Smith and a conditional 1st round draft pic. Why do you ask? Cause Snow is hot garbage and will probably be released the second he gets here and Joe Smith is on the decline. Difference is, for this One season he can certainly help us defensively and with leadership. He can help push Charlie Villanueva to be a better play and he would fit perfectly in the Scott Skiles system. Most important for Cleveland, they get a legitimate scoring threat to pair with Lebron James. You can play Mo at the 1 or 2 and it still would be a tremendous benefit for Cleveland. We get to shave off almost 2 million the first year and the rest at the end of the season when Joe Smith, Eric Snow and Desmond Mason's contracts expire giving us fire power to get what we need in a huge free agency next year. Again, the league doesn't under value Mo Williams like we Buck's fans. And giving up Smith and Snow for Williams will be a blessing for Cleveland. Clevelands draft pics are going to be no where near lottery, so they wont mind giving it up either. To sure up the center position I'd sign Kwame Brown or someone to a 1 year contract.
