Re: Is Alexander looking like a bust?
It's summer league. I treat summer league stats like NBDL stats. These guys are looking out for themselves and their own numbers, not necessarily being team players.
That being said, I guess there's a possibility you're right. I firmly believe it'll be 2-3 years before Alexander develops. I'd have preferred Bayless as well, but don't think Alexander is a brutal pick. Give it some time, G.
7/28/08- Bob Brenly: "We all know Lou likes to ride the hot hand." Disgusting.
FIGURE IT OUT
your= possessive; "your car". you're= you are; "you're an apologist". their= possessive; "their house". there= place or stage; "the bar is over there".

Re: Is Alexander looking like a bust?
Way too early to jump to any assumptions!!! I do hope our management is thinking there is no way Joe is ready to start as I read in a prior article. I believe he will pan out ok and play solid basketball. Yi was lost most of last year and Joe would probably look the same if he were named a starter. He has some skills and will work to get better. Skiles will help him develop his game over time.

Re: Is Alexander looking like a bust?
Summer league means jack - there's lots of guys who were summer league studs and didn't amount to anything in the regular season, and lots of guys who sucked in summer league and turned out to be good. Remember, people were asking about Tim Duncan after his rookie season summer league. Then it turned out that the team was asking him to play with mostly his left hand.
Another season, the Bucks had Tim Thomas taking ball handling duties in summer league. Because it doesn't matter. We have no idea if the Bucks asked for Alexander to play outside his comfort zone, or if he just wasn't putting up the stats.

I can't believe we're wasting our time on this. A handful of summer league games and he's already looking like a bust?!?! It's summer league in someone's brand new career. I think I'll wait to judge.

You're totally right, but sometimes it's tough not to say anything.

Re: Is Alexander looking like a bust?
Hammond and Alexander are great pickups for the Bucks. I remember Hammond advising people that draft picks are just a piece and not the whole answer for the Bucks. He did not put that much stock in the Draft. I believe that teams that get lottery picks have greater needs than what the lottery pick could give them. I will not call Alexander a bust. The boy has alot of talent and will improve greatly with Skiles as a Coach. I want him to be a teammate and not the team. I already think that the Bucks will be fun to watch this year the way they are without any more moves. I do think more moves are coming though. C.V. and Mo are my bets. Alexander will be a good solid player in the NBA. We will all enjoy watching him for years to come because of his unselfish play and hustle. The Bucks are building a Skiles team! This is going to be a fun ride!
Again as I have posted in the past.....
Thanks Herb, keep up the good work.
What a dream job it must be to piece together a NBA team.

Re: Is Alexander looking like a bust?
Well espn has him as the favorite lottery pick to be a bust. You guys say you wont pay attention to his summer league stats but you really need to. If this guy is'nt making a impact in the SUMMER LEAGUE something's wrong i mean he can't even rebound the damn ball! not to mention he shot 14/42. I think Luc will be better.

THE SUMMER LEAGUE IS A AND 1 MIX TAPE, Its coached by a different asst. coach each game. The guy hasen't gone threw training camp with the team yet. Anyone see the bayless high lights, he just slashes to the hoop vs a bunch of guys just standing around. Alexander is just nervous and can't find his outside shoot. So everyone breathe in, breathe out, the summer league means diddly,

Re: Is Alexander looking like a bust?
This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read! Alexander will be a fine contributor to the Bucks this year and for the next 3 at bare minimum. Bayless will most likely be a big standout in the draft outside of the top 5, but the Bucks did not need another scorer at the time of the draft.

No it's not! Players play hard because they want a spot on a team! Why would you assume he's nervous? He never said he was nervous so don't try to explain why he suck so far and why would he be nervous in summer league play?

Well almost everyone at ESPN said that the biggest bust in the draft will be your boy DeAndre Jordan, so either you can listen to people from ESPN or not, but you can't have it both ways.

OMG YOUR SO RIGHT SUMMER LEAGUE IS EVERYTHING, its life or death for the first and second round players. And the second or 3rd year guys just using it to get in shape. ITS A JOKE NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND TAKES ANYTHING FROM THE GAME GOOD OR BAD.
