How nice was it to watch #4 squirm in his chair when Timberlake started huggin' A-Rod! Sometimes I really do wonder if the LORD has any idea just how much of what he says or does becomes a national spectacle? He clearly looked embarrased that he was "being called out" even if it was in jest. I still think that Favre's guilt will eventually lead him to stay retired and maybe even apologize for causing this ridiculous circus.

I couldn't agree more...I think the Vikings got him into this and now that he realizes the packers will never let him go there he'll go back into retirement.... I think he'll wait it out through training camp though to see if Rogers stays healthy...I don't think he realizes how bull headed TT can be when you call him to the carpet...

Favre did not cause this crisis. The crisis was caused when personal conversations were leaked o the press (apparently by the Packers), and when the Packers stupiclly released a timeline (whether true or not) that Favre says is not true. According to Favre, he did not flip flop in March. The crisis was caused when the Packers awarded Rodgers a starting job although he has never beaten out Favre.

Come on man... I know that you're smarter than this. Do you really believe Favre at this point? I don't think that Favre believes Favre! If the Packers timeline isn't correct why isn't anyone else calling them on it? Or better yet why hasn't "CAMP FAVRE" called it a bunch of b.s.? They know that they're fighting a battle that they realistically can't win or make themselves look good (if that's possible) if they fight the Packers verbally. The best option for CAMP FAVRE (besides just staying retired) is to just file the papers without having a war of words with the team. Besides it only hurts Favre's trade value even more if they start arguing. His value right now might only be a 3rd RD pick if not worse....

I have to respectfully disagree with you on this...Jason Taylor just got traded for a 2nd rounder...

You bring up a great point about TT being bull headed. I think when this entire saga is said and done, the Packer players will have no choice but respect the hell out of him. Any side of this saga you're on, you have to respect TT. In the players heads, they're thinking. Hell, if they wouldn't take Brett Favre back, they'll cut anybody. This should make the players play even harder. Nobody is safe, if you don't play well you're azz is gone. Unlike Sherman who kept anyone and everyone around.

It's just like raising kids, you need consistency and sometimes the right thing to do isn't the easiest or most comfortable thing to do....

True... But Jason Taylor also isn't having the media circus type war of words with management and he also didn't call his GM or his bosses liars and throw one of his coaches under the bus. What went on in Miami is about as tame as a house cat compared to what Favre and the Packers are going through. Also factor in that Taylor isn't 38 years old either... Yes Taylor might only play another year or two like Favre wants to, but you know what you're going to get from Taylor. What Brett Favre will show up next year if he plays? The Favre from '07 or the Favre from '05? If history is any indicator, QB's don't fare well after 37 years of age. I think that more teams would be willing to give more for Taylor than they would've or will for Favre.

c'mon hb, he's coming off an MVP type year... Brett's got much more left in his tank than Taylor and QB's can play much older than DL... Add to that he's a future hall of famer playing the most important position....Locker room presence....Season ticket holders lining up...I think someone may give a one or two but it depends on how many buyers we have (which doesn't appear to be many)

TT saw that and used it as a bar. A 2nd rounder at the least or Brett stays a Packer. Gruden will give a 2. Gruden in his head probably thinks Brett is the answer to a Tampa Super Bowl run. Oh John, little do you know. If he couldn't do it in Green Bay, he's not doing it in Tampa.

He won't be doing it in TB any way...I don't think Ted will trade him to someone we play this year and give him a revenge game...

Well depending on if and where Favre plays this year there's no guarantee of him replicating his success from last year. The only reasonable way I can see him putting up similar numbers this year is if Manning, Brady or Romo gets hurt and one of those teams decides to take a flyer on Favre coming in... UNLIKELY! Favre was in a great situation in GB and now has blown his chances of coming back by waffling and blasting the organization. Besides there are two main reasons Favre won't be as successful next year...
1.) New team w/ less talent = More INT's and lots of running for his life.
2.) MADDEN CURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Although, he WILL be a lockerroom presence .... espcecially when HE GET'S HIS OWN LOCKERROOM!!

Nice post hb, I don't disagree with any of that, esp the curse:)

They have called it untrue. If they continue to attack the Packers publicly they increase the rift. His value is probably around a 2nd and a 4th, going by the Taylor trade. Not sure there is as much of a need for a QB though, and the Pack are more desparate to get rid of him.
His best chance to play this season is probably to back-up and wait for Rodgers to get hurt.

Starting the season as ARod's backup would cost Brett his consecutive game streak.
Not gonna happen - Brett will NEVER play for GB again.
He's seen to that...
