    Last 50

What record will be necessary to make playoffs (wildcard)?  I said 33-20 after Cubs series, so that leaves it at 31-19 to finish at 93-69 from here on out.  Anybody else?

I've always thought that it wouldn't take any more than 92 wins, and looking at the schedules for all the teams, it might be less than that.

I would say 29-21, maybe 30-20, but you could easily be right too.

30-20 sounds about right. Going to have to turn it around offensively pretty soon.

that 4 gamer @Phi in September is scaring the crap outta me right now.

I still think 90-92 wins will get you there.

This team needs to manufacture runs at a better rate then they are now, or none of our predictions will matter much I am afraid.  The only silver lining is that they are winnig on the road.  If they stop pressing, or phoning it in at home, this team has a better chance than anyone else in the NL to make the playoffs.

How's that "DAMN LUCK" Working out for you now, Quick??

We might win 84-85 games.  When Ned keeps running out these loser lineups like tonight and yesterday, we have no chance to win 90.

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice

Well we did win 2 of 3.  If we win 2 of 3 for the rest of the season, we're in the playoffs easily.  Apparently you think we will play .400 ball the rest of the way?

    That's right Ike,

Analog believes Yost in the worst manager in MLBhistory, despite the fact he has led his team to the 2nd best record in the NL this year.

Also, Craig Counsell is the worst ML player in history, thus whenever he starts the Brewers will lose:)

Now only need 25-18 the rest of the way to get to 93 wins.  Very doable.  That would force Cards, Mets, and Fish to play 30-13 ball to beat us, which is not going to happen.

If Braun is gone for any more than a week more, then I think that 25 wins drops to abour 19-20.  One man doesn't make a roster, but pitchers then will be able to pitch around whoever hits infront of Kapler/replacement.

Braun is good, but there's no way he's worth 6 wins in 43 games.

Take out one hitter and it's not like you can simply subtract a few HR's, Hits, etc.  The lineup will suffer infront of the replacement and Prince/Hart will have more pressure on them to make up for the loss.  If people thought that Prince was pressing earlier in the year, as he admitted, he'll definitely be pressing after the loss of Braun sinks in.

Absolutely right Radio.  Does anyone think that the Brewers would be 15 or so wins worse without Braun?  Are you really telling me that without Braun, the Brewers would 15-16 games under?  That seems a bit ridiculous.

His OBP is replaced quite easily, and that's way more important than what we lose with his SLG.

This line up can function making a relatively similar number of outs without Braun. Will what happens with those outs and with those hits and walsk be different? Yes.

But the overall complexion does not change entirely.

    Re: Last 50

Over the season, better adjustments can be made.  But at the moment, the options are Kapler or Gibbons when he probably comes up in September.  Plus, there's a lot more pressure condensed into these last 43 games.  Throughout a season, the other guys would adjust and get used to it.  But to pull out the best hitter at this point of the season adds a lot more stress to the others and I think that's why we'll see 5-6 more games lost IF Braun is gone for the year.

Yes, because it's so much better to draw a walk than having someone hit a 2-run homer.
